I really like these sensors for multiple reasons. They synced right up with the Tuya app that I was already using for remote infrared control of air conditioning units. Now with the same app I can monitor our house when we're not there. Bought two sensors to cover the main entrance and exits. I like these sensors because they have something like a 30 minute time out, whereas if you get a ping from movement, if there's movement within 30 minutes it won't ping you again which keeps the unnecessary notifications down. For inside a house where people are walking back and forth all the time, that's a nice feature. Also really really really like the fact that these run off of a single cr123 lithium cell. The book says it's supposed to last a few years, but even if it lasts a year that's a small price to pay for the convenience of being able to mount these things on the wall up out of the way without having to run a cord to them. ... show more

This smart motion sensor is pretty good overall. It was easy to set up, with clear instructions. The sensor connects to both the Smart Life and Tuya apps, as is claimed in the description. There are several typos in the settings, which annoys me quite a bit, as it's such an easy detail to fix. Using the settings, you can customize what kind of notifications you get, including tamper, motion, or low battery alarms. You can also create smart scenes with the device to trigger other actions on alarm or status change. This is where my frustration comes in. If you're using this device for security, it's great (other than the long, non-adjustable timeout before it tells you there was no motion). It notifies you dependably when motion occurs in front of it. My use-case, however, was to use it to trigger some other lights, but because this device doesn't work with voice assistants, you can only trigger lights that are connected via the same app, and there are plenty of smart lights that don't connect through the Smart Life or Tuya apps. So for that reason, this motion sensor is basically useless to me. Outside of that complaint when using it with a smart home, I do still think this motion sensor is a good value for the money strictly for the low-energy, WiFi-enabled notifications of motion detection that it provides. It can be a useful product for many, I just wish there was a little more emphasis on the software so it could work with common assistants. ... show more

This detects motion so randomly, everytime you walk by it will detect the first motion and then won’t detect another motion for another 30 mins or so… do not waste your time

This does an excellent job of filtering out excessive notifications by incorporating a delay before detecting another movement. I've turned off the 3 notification switches and incorporated an automation in order to receive "motion" alerts only. Coupled with a great app called "alert me", I've tested it for about a month with100% accuracy. ... show more

So definitely agree with the other reviewer on pretty much every point. It is super easy to pair with Home Assistant. The humidity and temperature data seem to be within a percent or so, but it appears for us that it only gets new data every 20 minutes which isn't terrible but could be a lot better. It is a little bigger than other sensors but it isn't obnoxiously big. It has a discrete and slim design so it can really sit anywhere without being super noticeable. ... show more

    • Fast to say movement, but slow to release movement

So test the system and it will say movement happened very quickly. Only thing is it takes 30 minutes before it will say movement stopped. I trigger it and walk away from that area knowing there is nothing to trigger it where I have it. Everytime 30 minutes before it would trigger again. Great to notify once, but to say movement is still happening you wouldn't know, as it gives off a vibe that movement has been going on for the whole 30 mins. ... show more

Works with home assistant and Z-wave JS! It was easy to put in pairing mode and was quickly recognized. Because it uses Z-wave and runs on a battery, it doesn't poll very often maybe once every 15-30 minutes. This works fine for just checking on the status of your home, but makes it difficult to determine the accuracy of the device. I would guess that it is in the range of +/- 1F. If you are looking for a Z-wave temperature sensor this works just fine. ... show more
