These are the best bags I've been able to find without breaking the bank, the next best bag is sold by a home improvement store and half the time the bags are defective, so useless. These smell great and have that stretchy stuff that keep odd shaped stuff like OJ containers and pizza boxes from ripping the bag. My only gripe is they don't make these in kitchen size in black. Seriously, see through bags for our trash in the era of identity theft when people can see if there's mail in the trash etc. never mind nosy neighbors. Want a garbage bag that doesn’t leak? Doesn’t tear? How about a garbage bag that smells pleasant even when there are foul odors around? Hefty lavender scented trash bags are superb! I was wondering if I would ever find a garbage bag that was really leak proof. So many companies say their bags are leak proof when they’re not. It’s extremely frustrating. But Hefty? If I could rate this trash bag with 10 stars - I would. This is one product that I’ve bought over and over again. My friend was actually using these for her used cat litter. The bags worked so well that I bought a box of 40, and then another box of 80, and so forth. The power burst ones smell awful, but lavender smells great! ... show more

As always Hefty makes an excellent garbage bag in terms of the construction and the band at the top - never a problem with these getting them out of the bin and downstairs to the dumpster no matter how full or messy the contents. The challenge with buying the apocalypse sized box of garbage bags is the scent, which tends to stick with you for a long time if you choose the wrong one. For some reason now Febreze scented garbage bags now smell like a diaper pail to me because that's what we used for so long in there and they were that odiferous. I'd cast a strong vote here for the lavender sweet vanilla scent, which is much more muted. It's clamps down a bit on the garbage odors without a full frontal assault on your nostrils whenever you pull one out. So well worth it to pick a smell like this one! ... show more

Someone left the Pursby trashcan from IKEA at the current place that I am renting. And it’s construction is not friendly to ANY trash bag due to its very wide flanges. You would have to stretch the trash bag along the top flanges to juuuuuust perfectly fit as it crushes your fingers trying to do so. These hefty trash bags are the only ones that I know of that fit it very well without tearing much only very slight tears occur when placing it on this trashcan (see photo). Which really is a testament to its durability. The trashcan was free and these bags will do. 😊 Update: 29MAY22 just be sure not to overstuff your trash bags because if you do, chances of leaking will occur. You can minimize leakage if you do not overpack it so be careful. I’ve done that and found liquid at the bottom of my trashcan. We should not be putting liquids in trash bags anyway; it should be dumped in the sink and then the dry material thrown into the trashcan; so just a quick tip for everyone. ... show more

I was shocked at how good these bags smell. Funny I know right? My husband had put one in the waste bin. I was walking near it and suddenly smelled a real nice fragrance. I was looking everywhere to see where the good smell was coming from. Was looking for perfume or body spray anything I could think of. So my nose went chasing the scent (like a hound dog right, lol) and low and behold it was coming from the small empty garbage can. So now I was confused but then remembered we had purchased them scented. Got the box and smelled the bags and was totally pleased to say the least. Totally started laughing shaking my head thinking when was the last time the garbage can actually smelled good :-) have these on auto ship! ... show more

These bags are terrible. We have had the same garbage can for 8 years. I have used these bags for a long time. Now all of a sudden that don't fit. They are shrinking like numerous other products. But these bags really changed. The quality has deteriorated to the point that I will never order them again. The sides RIP with little pressure, they are absolutely shorter, and the odor protector is disgusting, now. I am furious that I am stuck with an entire box of "garbage" pun intended! I purchase these Hefty 13-Gallon Trash Bags on the Subscribe and Save plan and I like the fact they are the 80-bag count. We use them for trash and use them for carrying non-food items in stormy weather when you don't want your things to get wet. I use them to put my recycling items in after emptying the heavy paper bag I collect our recyclables in. The handles make it easier to do this, rather than carrying a bag without handles. I used to use them too as protection from car door grease when I took clothing on hangers to college, the removed the bag when I hung the items in the closet.
