The media could not be loaded. I love these hinges, but I have a couple issues that I will explain later on in this review. These hinges work great. I have a wide wooden gate and some people can be very inconsiderate. They can leave the gate open, or not latched. I have an inside dog, and if she sees something outside, like another dog, she can bolt out the door before I can catch her. I need a closed and locked gate at all times and I don't want someone's inconsideration to cost my dog her life one day. These hinges are a GREAT solution. Now, someone would have to go out of their way to leave my gate ajar. The spring tension, gate leveling and gate spacing are all adjustable. These features allow me to adjust my gate to function perfectly, even though I have never built or installed a gate before in my life. Now for my issues... First, these hinges came with NO instructions. I have never worked with hinges like these before. The sealed bag they came in had the screws and the hinges along with some hardware I had no idea how to use. I had to go online to find videos of similar hinges to figure out what side of the hinge gets mounted to the gate, and what side gets mounted to the post. I also found videos online of how to tension the springs and use the hardware that came with the hinges to accomplish this. With the videos that I found online I was able to adjust everything so that the gate closes exactly how I want it. My second issue is that the screws that came with these hinges were meant for metal, not wood. I happen to have some heavy duty coarse threaded wood screws that worked well for me, but it was really frustrating that it came with fine threaded metal screws. The description of these hinges state that they are for wooden or vinyl gates so I am confused why this came with these type of screws. If these hinges came with even basic instructions, and had the proper screws, I would easily give these 5 stars. Now that they are installed, I am VERY happy with them. As these are bound to give people who are not experienced or professional gate installers problems, I can only give them 4 stars.

these hinges are strong and heavy duty. adjustable and easily modified to swing whatever direction needed to install. the only reason I gave 4 star instead of 5 is that the screws seem too short. I switched out the provided screws with a little bit longer screws. Other than that, these are really great hinges.

The nut/bold for adjusting the gap is awesome. Overtime, a gate would sag and the ability to finetune the gap (after installation) will proven to be very useful. Also, there are mounting screws on two sides the hinge, i.e., screws will go into two sides of a post. Not the typical 4 screws on only one side. So, this hinge will stay in place much more securely.

These are nice, sturdy hinges. The powder coat is thick, and the included hardware is of decent quality. The hinges are quite solid and seem ready to hold up to a pretty heavy gate. The return spring works pretty well, but how plumb the door is will affect how well it ultimately works. Overall a decent set of hinges for less than the local big box store charges.

The media could not be loaded. I used 2 pairs of these self closing hinges to build a “saloon door” type gates for my deck. It was a bit of a project as deck rail posts were not parallel to each other, but since these hinges give you about 180° of opening/closing angle, I was able to achieve what I wanted - each door closes itself and stops at certain point. The screws that come with the hinges are cheap - I had 1-1/2 and 2-1/2 strong mount screws by Simpson and these worked perfectly (they are hot dipped galvanized so they are silver in color, but I am fine with it. P.S. make sure you grease them before installing. They are dry inside and some grease will prolong their life and will keep them quiet.

I ordered this for our wooden gate, which is falling apart at the hinges. The previous hinges were flimsy, and ultimately the gate was too heavy. This is not the case with this set, these are heavy-duty, and best of all, they are self-closing, which is important for us since this gate provides access to our backyard. They were easy to install and look great. We are pleased with it and recommend it.

City sent me a notice of a falling down fence in the back yard by the street. It has an access gate, but it's in bad repair. I had the wooden gate and the posts repaired that were water rotted, but I've not liked that the ill-fitting latch sometimes blows open and hangs open via gravity. I removed the old latch and hardware, but I didn't like the easy street access to my back yard. Some people have wondered into my property in the past and I think some things went missing from my open garage. I normally now had kept the gate wired shut. I think it's a mental barrier to at least some people kids maybe, that an open gate and a gate you use the latch to open to enter the property. This spring-loaded hinge system keeps the gate shut even if the wind pushes it. It at least keeps it from swinging wide when the latch becomes ajar. The hardware is good quality and has the strength to hold a heavy wooden gate as long as the post it's attached to can hold the weight. Recommended.
