  • Solid fencing; bolt cutters fell out of the package in shipping; not too difficult to work with
Used less than half the fencing; should be plenty for fencing in an outdoor area for a dog to have access to, or for some chickens. We used a rectangular run of fencing around a regular/non-vehicle door in the garage so the dog could go in/out as it pleased. This would've worked well for that, given fence posts instead of the short rebar and ground staples I had lying around. Was able to put it up solo on same evening it was delivered to me, but would've gone a lot easier with another person. It's pretty heavy and wants to maintain its tight circular shape. Fencing arrived with some bends in it, but it isn't very noticeable once it's set up. Fencing is strong but able to be cut with linesman pliers, not terrible to work with. It looked like it was supposed to include bolt cutters, but these appear to've fallen out in shipping and I only received a thin piece of cardboard with "Bolt Cutters" printed on them. Also included are 50 or so zipties and some gloves. I previously tried using bins and bags for composting, but it's quite difficult to mix up the compost without really getting in there with a large shovel or pitchfork to throw it around. 4.8' is a bit excessive for compost, I'd say, and a tighter grid would be ideal; this'll really shine, I think, as fencing for larger animals. Set up as a square, 50' of fencing will give you a ~150 square foot space. Against an existing wall (like in the garage example), you can get up to around 300 square feet. With two walls in a corner, you could get over 600 square feet. Without an existing wall, a circular shape like pictured will give you maximum area; nearly 200 square feet if you use all the fencing, but the shape is often not practical. Will update if I experience any troubles with it over time. 10/22/2025 update: No problems with it; we just had a big windstorm and it was fine. Was worried about using my little rebar stakes instead of proper fence posts, but it's worked out well. Intend to halve the height of the compost fencing by cutting it so I have two and use the rest of fencing for trellises once Spring arrives; they'll work great for cucumbers and tomatoes, I think. ... show more

  • Very well made fencing, that can be used for more than just fence. Includes nice bolt cutters.
So far, I'm pretty impressed with the quality of not only the wire used, but the welds too. I took a few pieces of this fence, and made it into different things. I made a small "basket", and while it's too big for the bottom to have good support, I put this on my outdoor table, and I have a nice place to put smaller things. As you can see from my picture, I twisted up the fence wire, so I know it's pretty stout wire. And with all the excess stress I put on the welds, I expected at least one weld to break, but they all held up extremely well. I took another section of fence, about 7 or so feet long, and made it into a big tube, to use as a compost pile. They include a pair of bolt cutters, for cutting the fence, and I expected it to be poor quality, but I was surprised. It's not great quality, but it works well, and is not nicking the blades when I cut the fence. I'll be using these bolt cutters for other things, once I have the fence all put up. They also include a pair of gloves, which much to my surprise, fit my slightly-larger-than-average-hands pretty well. The fingers weren't long enough for a perfect fit, but they were usable, and not uncomfortable. I have zero complaints about this nice looking, sturdy fence. ... show more

  • Good for Critter Control in Garden, Around Small Trees,. amd Much More
I needed a way to keep dogs, cats, deer, and other critters out of my raised garden. I found the answer to my problem in this galvanized farm fence. It is 4.8 feet high, installed, and has 2 x 4-inch mesh. That is enough to protect my vegetables from the troublesome critters that lurk in the woods behind my backyard. It is "rust-proof," so I expect to get years of use out of it. Installation was not difficult, though it certainly helps to have someone to help. I used metal posts that I could pound into the ground. The zip ties that are included, along with a wire cutter and a pair of gloves, will work for a temporary installation, but I plan to replace them with something more permanent. I cut a piece of the fence to frame and make a makeshift door for access to the garden. I am not a farmer, just an ordinary person with a little garden in need of protection from hungry creatures. That I was able to use this for my needs is evidence that anyone can use it for many different purposes. ... show more

  • Extra tall, well built fencing wire
This welded wire fencing is heavy duty enough to contain my goats (even with them rearing up on it, it's holding up well) and dogs, yet lightweight enough that I was able to move the roll -and build the fence without my husband's help. Compared to the same fencing at our local hardware store this was a great value so I'm extra happy with the quality for the price. The quality and strength of your fence of course also depends son your posts and how you secure your wire, so make sure that you use good judgement on that. It's easy to unroll and work with, and when secure to well driven Tposts with a good tie of high quality stay-wire, this fencing should secure most any small animal. I love the extra height, as well, which keeps my very active bird dog from jumping over. ... show more

  • Sturdy fence at a great price.
The fence is nice and sturdy and the galvanizing should make it last along time. The wire is heavy gauge with no defects I could spot. I'm using it to keep sheep out of our garden. Using solid t-posts the fence is very strong and easily stands up to the sheep pushing on it, ad they can push very hard. If you need some sturdy fece at a great price, this is a good option. There was even a free pair of gloves and some sturdy wire cutters included. ... show more
