Good gate frame, all you need is included except for the wood (no spring included - had that already). But... the directions? Ugh. Took 2 of us - the other guy put together a similar gate 2 weeks ago. We didn't follow the directions because they made no sense in terms of the order they wanted the assembly to go. But we figured it out easily and got it up nicely. I used goat fencing that I had already, cut it to fit, and like the look. Still have to stain the bottom rail (as you can see in the photos).

The engineers who designed this knew what they were doing. It’s sturdy and adjustable, as promised. Sadly, whoever took it from there missed the boat. First, there is no way this will fit a 36-inch opening. The adjustable frame pieces at their smallest are larger than that. Second, a list of needed tools would have been soooo helpful. This kit uses nuts in two places; in my kit, one was metric and one was English. Really. Third, some instructions are needed. The photos they sent were unhelpful and the order of construction would never work. Forth, be prepared to run to the hardware store because my kit was 2 screws light. All that said, I would buy a second kit, except the opening I need is smaller that this can accommodate - bigger than 36 inches, but still not going to fit

I've used this brand and the Build a Gate brand on another gate. I had to replace a large gate that had started to sag and the wood was rotting. Build a Gate has much clearer and easier to read instructions, packages were labeled with letters to tell you where they need to go. This system is a little confusing at first but because I am a baby boomer I can rationalize and fix things I figured it all out!

I didn't use the frame "totally" as the vendor described, but my friend instantly figured out how to use this great-priced gate frame for my situation.. 7 yrs ago my ex vertically cut the existing fence and put 2 hinges to make a gate. About 2 yrs ago, it started sagging profoundly and had to be lifted to get the section to swing open or closed. My friend used self-tapping screws (not included) to secure the frame shape on the "patio side" of the gate. Attached the frame, hinges, post fingers (?- the top points "down" securing the frame to hinges and bottom points "up" also securing the frame and supporting the weight of the finished gate. The steel frame and the sturdy hinges/frame supports were attached to my existing fence section. If I used the frame by itself and added my 5ft vertical fence boards, it would not have been as sturdy. I wanted to keep the horizontal 2 x 6's of my existing fence design, so attaching the new gate frame and supports to my previously sagging fence gate instantly fixed the problem. Gate is now very sturdy and opens and closes with ease (see attached picture). I couldn't use the included gate latch, it wouldn't fit the close space, so I'm using the same original latch I had.
