I have used these now on two pairs of shoes for my boys. For one pair, I bought a laceless system, but the lower part of the shoe was a little loose. Adding these halfway up the lacing allowed the lower part to be more snug, yet the upper part could be loosened to allow easy access. The second pair I did was just using these. I used the same approach for allowing the lower part to be tighter by putting one of these in and that works great. Now, the upper part is not quite as good with this as it does not lay flat. It holds, but I have another set of cord locks on the way that I will use for the top. So, good quality and will use these on backpacks and for laceless systems, but just may not use at the top of the laces. ... show more

More clamping power than the others I have tried. Most important feature is the Stainless Steel spring which is a must for durability. It can be a little difficult threading the lace/cord thru the hole as it is smaller than some.

Have to fully depress that button to get the ends of the shoelaces through & it has a strong spring. That's a good thing, it's not going to slip. Only have to partially depress the button to move it on the laces.

The media could not be loaded. I use these for work boots. I use them for hiking boots. I use them on tennis shoes. I’m buying my 2nd set today because I’ve given them away because they are so awesome. Are they hard to thread through? A bit. I have to sit down and lace up my boots. But I don’t have untied laces and they stay! (On my Carhardt boots, I bought laces from Walmart, cut them to size/ length. Then I burned/ melted the ends to a point. The boots came with leather laces that I’ve never used) On the Salomon hiking boots, they are the original laces and they are actually flat. No issues there either. ... show more
