I decided that #2 gauge was more than adequate for starting any car engine. 20 feet of length will usually be enough for the source vehicle to get close enough. These cables have what looks to be tough durable flexible insulation and the clamps seem strong and well made. I ordered one pair to check them out and then ordered a second pair for another car.
