I ordered this 50 Ft. 120V Self-Regulating Heating Cable in October 2024. It worked well during the 2025 winter, but last winter (2026) it stopped heating properly. Even though it was past the standard warranty period, I reached out to Maxkosko anyway. They were fantastic to work with. I spoke with Lily and they were very responsive and understanding. Even though they didn’t have to, they offered me a nice discount on their updated cables. The product itself is well-made, easy to install, and does a good job keeping pipes from freezing. The self-regulating feature is a big plus for energy efficiency. Overall this is a solid heating cable, and the customer service from Maxkosko was some of the best I’ve experienced on Amazon. That level of support makes me confident buying from them again. Highly recommend both the product and the company.

This is great! I built a small guest cabin on my homestead and had been having issues with my water line freezing, even though it was buried nearly 12" deep. This heating wire solved my problems. I purchased one long enough to run along the pex water lines inside the exterior facing wall, vertically down that same wall through the building's wooden floor, and then in the ground several feet horizontally towards the main water source. I used the included tape to secure the wire as it wrapped around the pipe, but I also placed zip ties for added security. We had a week straight of 10 to 15°F temperatures and had no freeze ups on our water supply! Very happy with the product I would buy it again.

I live in an area of Texas that hardly ever snows and rarely gets below freezing for any length of time. This year was different. We had a week of temps in the 20s & 30s. My house is on piers built on a hill facing a body of water. My pipes are installed under the house. With the north winds coming off the lake, I knew I was in for frozen pipes. Decided to give this a try. Very glad I did! Normally, we trickle water in our pipes during freezing weather. With this installed, I didn’t have to trickle water at all. There’s a thermostat at the end of the cable that automatically heats the pipes. My pipes are pex but I know this will work on PVC or metal/copper piping. During the entire event (week), the pipes never froze! Saved water for sure. Definitely recommend.

Top quality plug with light,cord was very thick and felt heat immediately the thermostat works perfectly and I have no issues at all with a tempiture of -15 where the pipe comes into this old house. I will be getting another 1 or 2 for the outside water as well. Very well built.

I have a 1 1/2" PVC drain line in an unheated area. When we have consistent temperatures below 20 degrees in the day and single digits at night, the cold drain line will accumulate ice until the ice blocks the drain. With the deepening cold, and the gurgling of my drain pipe from the ice accumulation, I bought the Maxkosko heating cable. It took a day or two to warm the drain pipe, but the gurgling is gone, the pipe is warm, and no more worries about blockage. Installation was simple, but I don't recommend doing it in 10-degree weather. I did not wrap the pipes with insulation.

This product should be 100 percent reliable out of the package. You won't know if it's working or not until it needs to heat the pipe In my case we just had a major freeze in Florida February 2026. The tape worked for half the night , but luckily I checked it every few hours and found that it failed in the morning. I diagnosed the failure to a faulty connection at the tail end of the tape Upon my disassembly and inspection I could see that there was shoddy workmanship in the tail end This is totally unacceptable if you're trying to protect outside plumbing suppling a $3000 tankless hot water heater. luckily I was able to repair the tape and re install it in sub zero weather. again not acceptable Next year I am going to a plumbing house and by the best tape that they recommend - no more Amazon on this item. By the way I previously used a tape for 13 years without a problem- it was a reed thermostatic switch very simple
