Making my old girl more comfortable this winter
My cat Carmen is getting up there in years, and doesn't seem to enjoy the winter months like she used to. She has a clean bill of health from the vet, but she suggested that Carmen is likely to have some stiffer joints at 13 years old. I ordered this heated bed for her in hopes that it keeps her more comfortable through out the chilly winters. It is the perfect size to sit on her favorite lounge chair. And, even though it is still too warm to turn it on for more than testing that it works (it does), she is already enjoying snuggling on it in the evenings. The pad is very soft, with a nice plush exterior, and is quite sizeable. I think my brother-in-law's pitty/lab mix would fit on it quite comfortable. For Carmen, is rests fully across the seat of her lounge chair and up up the arm rests a little. She will be able to nestle into a corner for maximum heat if she wants. The chew-proof cord is pretty impressive. My girl isn't a chewer, but it would stand up to the pitty, if we let her near it. The gray color works well with out decor, and I LOVE that the cover can be easily unzipped and washed. I appreciate that the unit has built in safety guards against overheating to keep Carmen safe, and love the automatic shut-off timer. Carmen usually moves into the bedroom when we go to bed. So being able to set a shutoff period with save us money.

My cats has always loved laying on a heating pad, however it has always been a human heating pad with his blanket on top. With the addition of a rescue this last Spring and the two of them being attacked at the hip, I decided we may need something they could both curl up on as we get into the ‘ber months. When I came across this Heated Dog Bed for Pet/Cats/Dogs, it definitely looked big enough and had some great features. Everything about this item speaks quality, like better quality than most human heating pads! The cover has a zipper and is soft, not thin, but not overly thick. The cord was the big surprise! It is not just a regular cord that runs from the blanket to the wall with the controller on it, the cord itself has a safety tubing around it that runs the duration of the cord (see pictures). It helps the cord lay flat and keeps it from getting kinked or bent! The controller itself sits in a great place, is easy to operate and easy to read as far as time you have selected (oh yes there is a timer up to 24hrs), time that is left and level of temperature! Most importantly it is CAT APPROVED even in AZ when it is still 100° outside! I can honestly say I may have to purchase at least 1 more for my office and probably one for my bedroom! If you need a new pet heating pad or are considering getting one that is cat approved this should be top of your list! Oh and it has a GREAT INSTRUCTIONS ANS CARE GUIDE!

convenient timer for overnight use
My small dog sleeps in his own bed in the living room. Our wood floor can feel quite cool at night. Even with a blanket inside his bed, the bottom still felt chilly in the morning. This heating pad sits inside his bed with the soft cover over it. There is enough room for him to curl up comfortably while still leaving some space to move away from the warmer area. Around bedtime, I turn it on and choose a heat level based on the room temperature. Having several heat settings is helpful because some nights only need gentle warmth. The timer lets me choose how long it stays on without leaving it running through the next day. The controller is clear and simple to use when I am getting ready for bed. My dog occasionally chews things around the house, which made the reinforced cord an important detail for me. I still tuck the cord away from his reach as a precaution. The removable cover is easy to clean when it collects fur. It gives my dog a warm, comfortable place to settle down at night.

My Cat Actually Likes This Pad
I put this pad in the corner of my living room where my cat usually hangs out while I’m watching TV. She was a little curious about it at first, then started curling up on it instead of lying directly on the floor. The padding is soft enough that she seems comfortable stretching out or tucking her paws underneath her. I like that it’s lightweight, so I can move it next to the window or into another room without any trouble. It also doesn’t take up much space, which works well since my cat already has a couple of favorite spots around the house. It’s a simple little pad, but she actually chooses to use it, so I’m happy to have it.

My cat usually likes to lie by the window and bask in the sun, so I just put this mat in the place where it usually sleeps. The surface is much softer than the floor. It didn't take long for it to get up and lie down on its own without any special guidance. The simple style is quite nice and doesn’t take up too much space. The cushion is very light, so you can just take it away when you want to move it to the bedroom or next to the sofa. I find it easier for cats to accept it if placed in a quiet corner where few people pass by. I clean it regularly and keep it dry according to the instructions. For me, it just gives it a comfortable resting spot.
