  • Love Haynes Manuals !
Format: Paperback
Haynes manuals are always a great choice for the do it yourselfer . I've used them for years with satisfaction. The only thing I would complain about is the combination of poor photography and paper used means the illustrations often leave lots to be desired. Other than that this is a good choice for anyone . ... show more

  • Useful but be careful
Format: Paperback
The book is not entirely accurate for every model Fusion. For example, it says my model 2010 I4 engine has a power steering fluid reservoir. This is not the case since that model has EPAS and doesn't use power steering fluid. Also, after reading about flushing my coolant at 30K miles I got excited and went ahead and did it. Afterwards I checked the maintenance schedule from Ford and they said it's not necessary until 105K miles...and the coolant that came out of my Fusion looked clean as if brand new. Also, about the coolant flush- the manual says if the bleed screw is plastic (which mine is), you only need to turn it a quarter turn counterclockwise. When I did this not all of the coolant drained and I had to unscrew it several turns for the bleed valve to open. So be careful about following their instructions word for word. If I had not loosened it more I would have likely gotten an air bubble in the system when refilling and that would have caused my engine to overheat. All in all it's a decent book with a lot of info and useful pictures, but I recommend cross-checking and approaching your car with care and common sense in addition to the book. ... show more

  • Not bad, but you can probably get better information online for free.
Format: Paperback
This does have a lot of useful stuff, but as a whole, I am not sure you are better off paying for this than you are searching the internet. So far I haven't found anything in the book that wasn't easier to find and free online. It also tends to be a bit overly simplistic. For example, this particular car is known for needing the thermostat replaced after about 60k miles. Haynes says: pull the hoses, remove the three bolts, reverse the process to reinstall. The problem is that in this car you need to pull the power steering pump first, which means removing the serpentine belt, which means you need to pull the wheel to access the tensioner. The book makes no mention of the that, but every set of instructions I found online did. ... show more

  • Save money with a Haynes Repair Manual
Format: Paperback
This repair manual has saved me a lot of money. I replaced the a/c temperature sensor in my wife's '06 Mercury Milan. It would have cost me $700 if not for doing it myself. I paid $22 dollars for the sensor and did the labor myself. The manual showed me how to remove the dash, yes I had the dash sitting in my wife's lap with the steering wheel against her and the other side of it in the passenger seat. I have never unplugged so many wiring harness connectors or removed a dash before. I also saved money changing the a/c compressor myself too. This manual has paid for itself many times over. ... show more

  • GOOD REPAIR MANUAL

  • Pretty good..., except for:
Format: Paperback
Need to fix (wheel that controls open/close is now pushed out of reach from the slot it protrudes from)the heating/AC vents in the dashboard. Book illustrations would have me take the "decorative" panel off of the dash to access,(shows a tool prying the panel off, but no mention of what manner/type of clips that hold it in place...) then leaves me in the dark as to how to take the grill off of the vents that need to be fixed. Sorry, but I am not that adventurous when it comes to VERY expensive and seldom available, plastic parts that become only too obvious when one damages them. Especially on a relatively new 2008 vehicle, that I haven't finished paying for... No other mention of these vents in the book. Needless to say, I am not thrilled at the prospect of this adventure. To it's credit, the book DOES cover many other trim removal procedures; just not this one! I have ordered a CD from another supplier, we will see if the *coverage is any better... *(5000 pages, so it says, it had better be!) ... show more
