  • Portable tub is easy to use, great value; Just need to use it with care
I got this portable Japanese-style tub because I’m a big gal (5’6”, ~220 lbs) and I wanted a deeper tub so that I could fully submerge in a hot bath. ASSEMBLY: Assembly is easy and straightforward, and there are clear instructions on how to do it. My only complaint here is that the connections between the oval frame and the legs aren’t the tightest, which made my (albeit unadvised) use of the tub difficult (see next paragraph). I PUT THIS TUB IN MY TUB: I put this portable tub inside my stationary bathtub (see photos). I made sure to measure my bathtub before ordering this portable tub, so I knew it would be a tight but doable fit. One difficulty was how the oval frame doesn’t connect super tightly to the six vertical legs. The bottom of my bathtub is curved slightly inward, so while assembling it, the legs kept popping off and I had to reattach them without causing any others to pop off. Then, the oval frame that circles the top of the portable tub was a little difficult to get under my bathtub’s spigot, but I managed. It was a tight fit - but I managed! Yay! TIME FOR A BATH: After finally getting the portable tub into my bathtub, with all legs attached and the frame under the spigot, I was able to then fill the portable tub with hot water and take a bath in it. The bath was quite comfortable, especially using the inflatable back-and-neck rest. I didn’t have much use for the water cushion. DRAINING & DISASSEMBLY: Word to the wise; when this portable tub is full of water, it becomes very heavy and its walls become taut. So, placing the portable tub inside my bathtub presented an obstacle when I got out to drain it; the water inside it caused it to press tightly against the sides of my bathtub. This made the two draining holes in the portable tub almost useless (I opened them, but they could only drain a little bit as they were pressed against my bathtub). SOLUTION: I eventually realized that I could (gently) disassemble the portable tub’s hard frame, then carefully pull the tub up on one side so that the water would slowly empty into my bathtub. This was the fastest way I found to drain it. I was able to hang the portable tub up to dry while the water slowly drained from my bathtub. QUALITY & VALUE: I’d say this portable tub is of pretty great quality for its value. For $58.99 at the time of writing this review, you’re going to get a portable tub that, if you *take good care of it*, should last a long time, and is easily assembled and stored. It would be easy, though, to damage the tub if you are aggressive with assembly, draining, or disassembly. The fabric is tough, but not super thick, especially around the outer frame. The drain plugs are made of decent quality plastic, but harsh handling over time will weaken or damage them. So just handle this portable tub gently so that it can give you many long, luxurious, DEEP baths! Overall, I’d recommend this portable Japanese-style tub. ... show more

  • Great soaker tub with some minor drainage issues
The media could not be loaded. What a treat to be able to take a bath! Hawwwy’s Portable Tub for Adults is easy to set up and to fold down or take apart. I haven’t been able to figure out how to make the tub fold as neatly as seen in the pictures, but at least it does fold. The alternative is to take all the tubes apart and store them in the bag that comes with the tub kit. The bag will fit everything—the tub, tubes, pillows, pump and accordion tube—and without a hassle. Reading the dimensions before ordering the tub, I was dubious as to whether or not I would be satisfied with the size. I am glad I gave it a shot. The size seems huge to me. Mind, I am only 5’-4”, but someone 6’ and 300 lbs may also find it roomy enough. The tub keeps the water warmer for longer than in a traditional tub. I can easily soak for a couple of hours without having to heat up the water. It isn’t the most comfortable tub, which is likely why a pillow for the head and neck (and a small pump to blow it up) is included, as well as another pillow, that I assume is for the tuckus. There is no instruction for the pillows, so I added some warm water to the buttocks pillow. I probably filled it too full because it was a bit challenging to get situated and use the head and neck pillow. There was a bit of water acrobatics involved. I had to try them out so I can let you know how it turned out for me, but personally, I am good without either pillow. There are two methods for draining. In the video you can see a clear plug at the base of the tub. It is pulled toward the shower until it sits over the drain. This is the slower method of draining. One small drawback is that after opening the plug tab, the rush of water to escape can sometimes force the tab to cover the opening. I also find that it is flimsy material and I wonder how long it will be until the tub is useless because the plug no longer closes. The second method for drainage uses a plastic accordion tube that is externally attached to a side port. The side plug is sturdier than the clear plug, but it also has a draw back. The tub cannot be sitting over the drain in order to get rid of the water, but the port is a couple of inches above the bottom of the tub, so it will not drain all the water out. Unfortunately, the amount of water left in the tub is pretty heavy and I am afraid of stretching out the materials in order to get the clear plug situated over the drain. In other words, to use the side plug, the tub must not be over the drain. To use the bottom plug, the plug must be situated over the drain, so only one method can be used, unless your setup is different from mine. Overall, I am very pleased with the tub. It is portable and easy to store. I don’t know how long the materials are expected to last, but for now, it is pure bliss to have a lovely long soak. ... show more

  • Nice tub
The tub inflates easily! And it isn’t complicated to use! When I inflated the tub it took about 3-5 minutes and it was ready to be used. The tub hold a great deal of water! I will say that the value of this is high! I use this to take cold baths and I don’t see any leakage from the tub, at most a little condensation. 5/5 ... show more

  • Works great!
Works great so far! I got this to use when I go out with my husband to our club house while he hunts. We don't have a tub there but do have access to water so this works out really well! Super easy to set up and it's actually not that uncomfortable. The material seems relatively thick and durable. Especially on the bottom! ... show more

  • Much better than round ice baths
I don’t use this as an ice bath. I got this because our only bathtub is too small to get a good soak. I got a round ice bath portable tub and that was great but my legs had to be scrunched up. This oval tub is the ticket. I can’t put my legs flat out like in a regular tub but I do have enough room to be comfortable. If we fill the tub the water is up to my wife’s chin. We use an immersion heater and we empty it with a pool cover pump. Works great. I love the idea another reviewer had and I’m going to try it out on the deck. ... show more

  • Wow, it is great for my small space.
HAWWWY Portable Tub for Adults - Japanese Style Tub for Adults - Inflatable and Lightweight - Collapsible Bathtub for Elderly - Space-Saving Foldable Inflate Bathroom Tub - Black, 47.2Lx19.6Wx21.6H In: This tub is so easy to put together. I love the fact that it fits in my small space shower and still I have space left over. Easy to clean, thick enough to withstand use for a good couple of years. I would just suggest this tub be used by someone that has no problem getting in and out of the tub without leaning on it because the frame is PVC. Very nice tub generally speaking. ... show more
