I got this for Xmas. May be an okay unit for certain applications but for what this package is on a kayak it doesn’t work well. The screen is impossible to see in the sun even at full brightness. It works. It shows where the fish are we were even using it around 221 feet up in maine to track monsters!!! Prob the best portable unit in the market OH MAKE SURE YOUR TRANSPONDER IS THE CORRECT DIRECTION. We made that mistake the first two days and thought she was broken. Screen Stopped working 3rd trip out. My bad for not buying warranty. Anyways my suggestion after lots of research after the fact I say "Just buy a Garmin striker 4+ it costs the same $ and has GPS and plotting

Depth was wildly inaccurate. Lake area with a known depth of 8 feet showed anywhere from 15-24 feet, and fluctuated rapidly. If depth is important to you, look elsewhere.
