This is the worst trumpet I have ever set my hands on. The only good thing was the color of it. It was a rich red color, and super shiny, but the paint did scratch easily. Now the bad parts. The water key- OK, I know it's a bargain trumpet. But I was at least expecting some quality. The water key leaks. Its like you have to empty it every minute or so. The sound- It's not bad at first, but it's not good. The valves stick, it makes a gurgling sound, even after I empty the water key. Who knows, maybe I just got a bad one, I tried to return it, but I couldn't. It was after the month return window. So im stuck with this. I would not buy this if I were you. NM. I got this for my son who is in his 4th year in band. he is in marching band and for the price it has held up great! he loves it! he actually had a very pricy one he already had been playing but wanted a silver one so we got this one. As a highschool trumpet player this was a sensational trumpet. It was very easy to play on and play high. I can go from a low g to a double g above the staff. It's very easy to play and looks nice. I bought the nickel and it holds up. For new trumpet players and or the parents of them, the only problem with trumpets like these is if they break it is very hard to find replacement parts for them. Mine has not broken and I have had it for about 2 months. Hope this was helpful! ... show more

I bought this trumpet for my 12 year old son who plays in his middle school band. He has been playing trumpet now for about two years and his previous trumpet was a beginner. I wanted to get him something more flashy as he plays in the concert band and he has progressed beyond a beginner's intrument. This trumpet was perfect for that as the black and gold is very shiny and attractive. The sound is clear and the tonal effect is very pleasant. The overall quality has met my expectations; the first valve does stick some, but not more than any other trumpet. The kit did come with valve oil, and when used, the valve performs as it should. The convertible case is very nice. It can be carried with the shoulder strap, or converted to carry like a backpack. He likes to carry it by the handstrap, but has used it as a backpack when his hands are full. I am very pleased with this purchase and it has not disappointed either myself or my son at all. He used it several days ago to try out for all county band (and made it!), and all the kids from the other schools went on and on about how "cool" this trumpet looks. Absolutely horrible. contacting now for a return or replacement. I ordered the silver trumpet and it is literally USED. not even light use this thing is very obviously used as in very rough finish with scratches everywhere. Tons of wear and not to mention the mouth piece was obviously used too🤢
