These foam pads are about 1 1/2" thick. (They come with separate tacky as in sticky sleeves although the other meaning may be appropriate) They are cut to size and fit a normal width sofa. They are very soft and require some sort of rigid support beneath them to be effective. They can show beneath the sofa cushion if they are not pushed back out of sight (or you could custom coordinate with a colored Sharpie or go crazy and match your sofa's fabric pattern. Fun for the arty crowd). They leave the cushion with a gap between the sofa base and the cushion, which is to be expected. They do not affect the springiness of the sofa cushions, so the kids should be safe or as safe as they can be in today's world.

This works so much better than I expected. I thought it would be too small because the size is smaller than my cushions, but they fit in the space very well and really work to provide the support that we needed. This couch is on its last legs for sure, but these will help it last a little longer. Now we can sit without getting swallowed by the couch.

I got this to help with my saggy bottomed armchair. Because my seat has a dip, I flipped this over (flat side on top, curved side on bottom) to fill in the gap. It has worked great so far without pushing the cushion up too high like some others have shown. I'm totally satisfied, and very happy to be able to keep my chair!

I put this under my cushion and felt no difference. I now have it on top of the cushion and under the couch cover. It's fine. Makes the seat firmer, but it is literally a piece of stiff foam. It is also a bit smaller than any of my couch cushions.

I was extremely reluctant to purchase this item because I just didn’t see how it would work. I did see the videos and I compared a lot of products when I tell you I am overly impressed with the comfort and ease of the additional support and no longer struggling to get off the sofa it’s amazing this little cushion did that, but it did yes you can see the cushion. I don’t know if there’s a workaround for that however, my sofa is gray and the cushions I purchased were gray so it’s a win-win for me. My couch is comfortable and can get in and out without struggling and thinking down, and my sofa is not even three years old. I need to purchase three more or either. I’m going to try the long one for my Chaise lounge.

I ordered a 3 pack of the firm, not very firm 20 x 20 inserts. I did not measure before ordering however this size is perfect as it does not reach the edge or front of the couch and show the insert as others have said. I did put them on top of sofa supports so that may make the inserts firmer. I may order a couple more..one for a chair and another for a rocking chair. I let the inserts breathe for about an hour before putting them on.I am very pleased with my purchase.
