The pucks and strikers are OK as backups but I don't really have anything good to say about them, they are very light and feel very cheap. The strikers are a hard hollow plastic and I really thought they would be much more solid due to the product description stating "Heavier weight than the competition " and also describing them as "pro-series" (what is pro about them I have no idea). For my 7.5" commercial table these really fall short. I really should have taken more note of the 1 and 2 star reviews before buying because I think all the good reviews are from people with small and cheap department stores tables the kind bought as cheap kids toys certainly not a full size commercial table, to some others saying the pucks are 'too thick' for their 'regulation' table goals I have no idea what they consider regulation but I assume they don't mean a proper full size commercial quality table as commercial tables take even larger 82mm X 6.9mm pucks that weigh in around 40grams and for reference the red one from this set is 72mm X 4.72mm and only weighs 12grams which is only a few grams more than a super cheap puck designed for kids toy table (black 2.5' one pictured) please see my pics for comparison between my pucks, green puck is official commercial quality puck, white is cheap 'commercial replacement', red is from this set and black is from a tiny 3 foot kids table type setup. To be fair I knew the puck was not designed for commercial table which takes the 3-1/4 pucks but I did think from the description and good reviews that they would be better quality than they are and instead they just feel like they would only be ok for a cheap small department store table. ... show more

Nothing really "pro" about this set. The pucks are light and fly off the table easy and the strikers are light as well. You can feel the strikers bending if you push down on them with a little force. I have your average ~7-8 foot sportcraft table and the pucks and strikers that came with my relatively cheap table are better and more solid than this Hathaway set. Its isn't a completely terrible set, though. The striker grip design feels nice in your hand and it does seem like the divots in the pucks make it float a little better.     • Great strikers and OK lightweight pucks for 7.5' to 8' tables
Strikers are very good. I have several different strikers and these are my favorite design. I can use a more relaxed grip and still have total control. It is hard to find a 3" to 3 1/4" puck on Amazon. Mostly they sell the small cheap pucks for the cheap tables for kids. These pucks are just under 3" and I really like the dimple design as it seems to float them better. The problem is they are light weight at only 12 grams. Full size pucks are 3 1/4" and 28 grams. The 3" size is OK as it forces you to be a bit more accurate in your strikes but the weight really should be around 20 grams and this would be a great set for 7.5' to 8' quality home tables. When a 1 ounces/28 gram puck leaves the table it can damage walls and furnishings. ... show more

We've been using these for several weeks now and they are great. We've found the pucks float even better than the ones that were included with our air hockey table and that the strikers are much easier to hold with this design. I have two young boys who would often lose the original strikers out of their hands (hence why one broke and we had to purchase), but these seem to be easier for them to hold onto. ... show more

    • I Ignored other reviews which said flimsy
Wishing I had not ignored the negative reviews. These puck pushers are undersized and are not sturdy. They are hollow and lightweight. One has the felt glued off center which is a problem because it pops the puck up. I dont understand the star rating for 'light weight'. They are undesirably light so I gave them a poor 1 star.     • Cheap and too lightweight
I was expecting something heavy and sturdy and this was not even close. The pucks are so light and flimsy that they fly off the table constantly. The strikers are hallow, flimsy plastic and don’t feel very heavy. The reviews made this seem quality but it is not. Amazon ranked this as the best heavy striker and I’m very disappointed. Our current set was chipping with the plastic coming of every time you hit the puck. So I searched over and over and found these. I love the hard rubber. The handles do not chip at all! The puck has had some slight plastic coming off, but not enough to scratch the table so far and I have had these for over a year. I would say great purchase. ... show more
