So I am one of the few people on the planet apparently that has never received these movies. Never read the books either. I did however find myself in New York City last month and with time to kill my wife suggested me go to the Harry Potter store. I mean it was a cool star and all but nothing in there meant anything to me because like I said I've never seen the movies. Now after we returned my wife suggested well you know what, they are pretty good films maybe you should watch? So I jump on Amazon and there's at least a dozen different two choices to buy the collection of movies. And the prices randomly move around upwards of $125 if you want Blu-ray and then there's some of the descriptions that say these don't work in United States.. so I just went ahead and got the bear basic simple DVDs and we have already watched the first two. The sound quality is great, the picture is really nice even though I don't have that awesome of a DVD player these are in letterbox format but the black areas above and below are minimal. , if your sole purpose isn't because you want a collection's edition or Blu-Ray or anything but you just want to see the movies because maybe you haven't yet or you want to see them again and they're not currently streaming anywhere... This is the collection you want to buy.

When I purchased this set, there were 3 options: Harry Potter 8-film collection (4kUHD) standard edition Blu-Ray for $169.99 (Blu-Ray labeled box) (16 discs) Harry Potter The Complete 8-film collection for $54.98 (DVD labeled box) (8 discs) Harry Potter Hogwart's Collection for $134.95 {Multi Format labeled box) (31 discs) I purchased the 4kUHD set. This set has 8 4kUHD blu-ray discs, and 8 standard blu-ray discs. The 4k blu-ray discs DO NOT contain any special features, I checked each disc. The standard blu-ray discs DO contain some special features as follows: Disc 1 (Sorcerer's Stone) has in movie experience with chris columbus and BD-Live, and includes the 159 minute length movie. Disc 2 (Chamber of Secrets) has in movie experience with chris columbus and BD-Live, and includes the 174 minute length movie. Disc 3 (Azkhaban) BD-live Disc 4 (Goblet of Fire) has in movie experience and BD-live. Disc 5 (Order of Pheonix) has in movie experience, focus points and BD-live. I would have preferred some more details in the description of what you get in each package, and I hope that amazon does a better job seperating reviews from product to product as some of the reviews DO NOT apply to the 4kUHD set.

Love having our own copy of this great movie set. The story line and attention to detail of the plot means that we notice new items when we watch them more than once. I've read the books, as well, and the movies don't vary too much from the books, except to improve the story. The special effects are why I sprang for the movie price and they do not disappoint; could find no fault in their execution. One little point and that was expected, an increase in the appeal to buy Harry Potter material in the post film set market. That's why they made fast forward. .

This is a review of the 4K set. Picture and sound are excellent as are the features. Really like the Harry Potter books and films, just wish the author wasn’t such an awful person in my opinion.

These films are as good as the books, perhaps even better. You couldn’t have picked a better cast. Musical scores are amazing. A treat for the young and adults.
