I bought a few of these to add to my garden this year like I do every year. They are great for helping the soil retain nutritients, and my absolute favorite thing about coconut coir is that they are good for drainage. Side notes: ▪︎ WEAR gloves do not handle with bare hand. Will get lodge in your finger nails. If you do use bare hand be sure to wash your hand thoroughly before touching your face. ▪︎ Add to a large container or bucket with warm water because it will expanded. Simply amazing, I was doubtful about buying a compressed substrate but so glad i did. This has a very nice, clean, "dirt" smell, very fibrous, the coconut husk fibers look to be a very good medium for root growth, especially once I added some perlite to the mix. I think without something added this might compact down and slow or even prevent proper root growth. Once I added perlite it was nice and fluffy, I've only just planted my carrots, here's hoping it works as good as it looks. ... show more

At first, you see these 4 little bricks and think, WTH? However, you put a. Inch of warm water over them and it just keeps absorbing and increasing the amount. Such a cool product. No need to try and carry a 50 lb bag anywhere. And even better, say goodbye to other products like sphagnum moss, that are not replenishable. This stuff checks that box as well. I’m getting ready to order another round so I can finish repotting all my plants and will be adding some to my garden and flower beds as well. Thanks for such a good product-seriously.
