This seat is great for many uses for kids. While is talks a lot about use in a canoe...it's so much more. Canoe, kayak, SUP...yes; works great on any of those. But since it's truly portable it can be used virtually anywhere! Camping, sporting events just like a stadium seat, set it on a cooler lid and bam...comfy kiddo! The padding is a couple of inches thick, more than most kayak seats, and the back has both adjustable straps and rigid tubes running up the sides so it will stay upright by itself.     • Great little seat
We got this seat for our 4 year old to sit on our inflatable kayak. Our kayak came with an inflatable seat with no back and my son would wiggle all over the place and was not comfortable. I found this seat and it’s a great size, easy to set up and it’s sturdy. My son really likes it.

Unfortunately, when my grandchildren used this, if he leaned back on it at all he tipped backward. It did not provide him any back support. Returned it.

The construction of the Harmony Gear Kid's seat is well done and looks like it will last many trips. Our 4-year old finds the seat to be comfortable and it is nice that you can move it practically anywhere in the canoe. It would be nice if they offered different seat thicknesses to raise the seat level up so that smaller children can see over the gunwales which would help keep small children more involved with what is going on around them. ... show more

Great for adding a bit of back support to your sit in kayak. I have a Liquid Logic XP10 and this can be used with spray skirt and not be too high as to interfere with skirt. It still gives great back support and is not too bulky. Im a 6 ft tall adult and this works great for me.

    • Not defective, just a poor design!
I ordered this for my six year old to sit in front of me in my large single kayak. The anti slip strip on the bottom definitely is a plus. The back support is what it is, given how thin it is. The seat cushion is thick and comfortable. If you take the time to figure out what angle works best for the child's weight and height, it will work just fine. This product is shipped in a box, folded flat. But in order to do so, the product is flipped inside out. It comes with zero instructions and the straps do not come off so I was thrown off, thinking that perhaps it was defective as others also thought. However, you can flip it fairly easily, if you know what to do. Loosen the straps and make them as long as they get, flatten the seat out as much as it goes, shift the back panel (the side with turtle pic) down towards the seat cushion to create a little slack on the straps, then pop it into the correct position. Now that I've figured it out, I can flip, fold and pack it up for trips without it being in a 90 degree position! ... show more
