Good fit and traction. Not good for cold weather or comfort. The insoles were crushed and paper thin by the end of the first week. I could feel the top side of the sole pushing into the bottom of my feet like a rubbery grid.

Why I ordered this item: I needed a pair of hiking boots that wouldn't break the bank but could still handle some decent trails. Waterproofing is important since I hike in all kinds of weather. Likes: * These are legitimately lightweight. I was expecting them to feel clunky, but they're surprisingly nimble on the trail. Makes a difference when you're covering miles. * The slip-resistant soles grip well on wet rocks and muddy sections. I've tested them on some pretty sketchy terrain and they hold their own. * Ankle support is solid. My ankles don't roll around in these, which matters to me since I've turned my ankle before on uneven ground. * For the price, you're getting a lot. I've spent twice as much on boots that aren't any better than this. * The waterproofing works. My feet stayed dry in a hard rain, which is exactly what you want. No likes: * The build quality isn't as robust as some other boots I've owned. The stitching and materials feel a step or two below premium brands. The price is lower, so I only deducted one star.
