All lumber from your box will be kiln dried. You will receive a mix of species in each box. We will guarantee at least 3 species but will strive for greater variety. The species will range from Walnut, Red Oak, White Oak, Cherry, Birch, Soft Maple Hard Maple, Hickory, Cherry, Ash, Butternut and Red Grandis.     • This is cut offs, if you want perfect you need to purchase by board foot at a lumber store.
I am very happy with the variety of cut offs I received. They can be used to make some beautiful crafts. I see others not happy but you have to realize what you are getting and it is a decent price for what you get. If you want specific you will need to purchase by the board foot.

Nice box of wood. Several different species... At least 4 or 5. No defects in any of it. Everything is already cut square and surfaced on all sides. Some of the pieces are average looking, but most are pretty nice with a couple being really good looking patterns.

I got this to carve spoons and let me try different kinds of woods. Each board was nice and made good spoons, however some of the boards do have knots. "perfect boards" is an exaggeration, but would still recommend.

Second time purchase and the first box was very good. This box was fully loaded with beautiful hardwoods. Several finished on 4 sides and sized equally. Picture frames, children’s puzzle blocks and games and so many creative ways to use this well done purchase. Thank you!

So new woodworker and this was my first purchase of domestic wood. I purchased 2 packages arrived quickly and the oak cherry and maple are good. Range in the size of 1/4 to 1 1/8. I really wanted to get my hands on walnut for the first time and was sadly disappointed. It had walnut 9 planks 1/4 or less thick and all but one are bowed. So I have no planer or jointer and even if I did , wouldn't be much to work with. So if you looking for some good walnut pieces I couldn't recommend but oak cherry looks great. ... show more

    • Fast and amazing
When I originally purchased this, as it is still now, it wasn’t prime. So the shipping was expected to be around 7-10 days after purchase. No worries, no rush, however it came two days after ordering with other things that were prime. I was impressed to say the least. Of course that may not always be the case but I think it’s a indicator of a good company getting things to you ASAP instead of procrastinating because they can. As for the wood itself. Perfect for the small thing I build such as keep sake boxes, drawers, rings and ring boxes. Hard to get decent hard woods in my area already dried and milled. I enjoy that process as well but it’s a costly one I only like to use for special pieces. All lumber I received is square, straight, quality grade with now knots or blemishes I can see yet. Looks to be all rift sawn mostly with some quarter sawn. I’m reallly happy with it and will definitely buy again. ... show more

My box arrived early and was completely full, with 18 pieces of wood 12 inches long and ranging from 2-7/8 to 8-7/8 inches in width. All the pieces were sanded on four sides. Although unlabelled, I think they represent eight different species. One piece had part of a knothole visible at the end of one side, otherwise there were no defects.     • Hit or miss quality
This was my second order. The first order was pretty much as advertised, with some nice usable pieces. The second order was a huge disappointment. First the box was not even full. Secondly it was a lot more smaller pieces. The larger pieces looked like they were bounced through a planer and had deep gouges. Another of the larger pieces still had bark on it. I did contact the company, but have not had a reply, so felt I had to post a review here to warn others to carefully consider before ordering this product. Buying wood sight unseen can be a gamble, but this is a gamble I wouldn't take again. ... show more
