Let me start off by saying why I gave the tool Durability a 4 star. Had an issue after a short time of use, see below, however Hardell took care of it immediately. Tool was described correctly with lots more accessories than expected. Used the flex shaft for tight fine work and it is amazing. The only issue I had was with the flex shaft failing to tun after 30 plus minutes of using it. Tool still worked fine just not the flex portion. Contacted Hardell and their customer service got back to me the next day and replaced the product and were so apologetic and couldn't do enough to make sure I was satisfied. Dremel should take note of how to service clients. My wife has a Dremel tool that burned up a year ago, took 3 days for service to get back to me, and she wanted just Dremel. When I needed to have my own rotary tool in my shop, looked at Dremel and it was almost 3x the cost, so I decided to try Hardell. So glad I did. I bought this after reading many other reviews and surprisingly, this one had ZERO reviews when I decided to get it and see what happens. I liked the included bits and the extension attachment for what I was using it for. I was grinding a small concrete gnome. I'm a first time dremel style tool user so, I thought this was a decent one to try. I am handy and have other tools so, I'm not completely a novice with DIY tools. I ended up having to purchase additional shaped bits for my specific use but, the ones included are decent...I needed the diamond bits. After using the larger tool for a day, at one point, I lost the bit, it must of flew off. Luckily, I found it and was not harmed. So, I check and tighten it every 15-30 minutes to make sure it's still in there snug. I wear eye protecting and a mask btw. I then tried the smaller extension tool. It was easy enough to hook up if you have common sense. I do like this tool as it is lighter for detail work. Both get a little hot when using it for a while so, take breaks. I also use a small spray bottle with water to cool the bits while I'm grinding concrete so that probably helps cool the surface but the tool itself gets hot but not so hot that you can't touch it. The flexible extension shaft broke thebsecond time I used it, and the speed controls are on the bottom/power on the top. This makes no sense ... when using this you need to be able to easily adjust the speed, but the way it is set up you have to flip the unit over in your hand to change it.

I bought this because I had a tiny cordless one and I needed more power. Not only was it more powerful, but it has a higher rpm than the smaller one I had. I highly recommend this to anybody, it's nice to have.

Only thing I dislike is the instructions given on how to use the extension are confusing cause I can't get it to work 😑 still not unsatisfied with the product though. I believe I use it and test out every bit that came with it probably 20x in a week. Well done

This product even when cranked down wouldn't hold onto the bits. This became dangerous when using the mini saw cutter. the end bit within one minute of cutting was migrating to the end about to fly off. Also, the sanding bit in the first few uses flew off and bent the attachment. This was all done on pla plastic which its a weak plastic material. This product is cheap and dangerous ... show more

This rotary tool does fine with small grinding, deburring, and polishing jobs. It comes with a good variety of accessories. The most useful accessory for me is the flex shaft. I hang the tool from a hook above my work surface, then I only need to guide the tip of the shaft. This makes working on tiny things much easier than having to hold the tool itself. ... show more

I love "rotary tools" (aka, Dremel tools). They are extremely versatile, and I own two. One is a corded higher-powered variable-speed original Dremel tool equipped with a flex shaft drive, that I have been using well over a decade. Another is a much more recent, non-Dremel cordless unit with a built-in lithium battery. It doesn't have a flex shaft drive, but I love it for the cordless convenience. I ordered this low-priced model with a flex shaft drive, mostly as a backup to my older Dremel. (And possibly to carry it in my van when I travel.) Given the low price (under $30 with coupon applied, including some assorted bits), my expectations were low. But it's just a simple rotary tool. How could I go wrong? Having used it on a couple of small projects now, though, I feel rather disappointed by it. The tool basically works as it is meant to do. But overall quality is obviously low, and it's frustrating to use. What is most annoying is that the bit keeps loosening itself in the chuck (collet) while using it. Every time it happens, which is often, I have to stop, look for the tiny wrench (comes included) that you need to use to retighten the chuck. Then repeat. (Unlike with my two other rotary tools, the outer surface of the chuck is smooth/slippery. So using your fingers to retighten the chuck is not an option.) After a couple of these, it gets really old. Overall, this rotary tool basically works and the price is very reasonable. I particularly like that it comes included with a flex shaft. (I use a flex shaft with my older corded Dremel tool all the time. I find it indispensable.) But, on balance, I would not recommend this particular rotary tool, due mainly to the frustrating and time-wasting chuck that keeps loosening. I suggest that you get yourself a higher quality rotary tool. (It doesn't have to be a genuine Dremel. There are non-Dremel units that are good, and not all Dremels are good any more, from what I hear.) 3 stars. ... show more
