Very great caliper!

This is a lifesaver to be dramatic, but basically true... if you want to ve a little dramatic. I bought this to use on a few measurements I wanted to be a little more accurate and now I'm using it in almost everything! I really can't tell you how nice it is having this caliper. The accuracy is as close as what the specs are that are mentioned in what you compare them to if you compare them to specs included with most of what you buy but some of those things are rounded up of course. Build quality is exceptional. Ease of use has a little bit of learning to do but not much, only if you've never used one before like me. Versatility is great as you can use it on reading depth, inner and outer diameters and it also does it in several metrics. And it even has a great auto off that may be a pain in the learning days but is just right once you have it figured out. Thank you for reading and thank you for this great product!

Great quality, especially for the price.

PROS - It comes with 2 batteries, and a metal ruler (nice bonus). The black / orange contrast is very easy to read. It appears to be 100% accurate. The sliding is very smooth and tight. It's almost perfect. CONS - The battery compartment requires a screw, rather than the typical slide snap. On the up side it also came with a small screwdriver, it just seems unnecessary. That said, the battery should last a few years, so not a huge deal. This could be a deal breaker depending what you are planning to use this for. The back of the jaws is recessed, so you are supposed to be measuring with the outer 3/4 of the jaws. Still, if you have something thin and flat you might want to push it to the back of the jaws against the bar to get a perfect 90 for your measurement. The problem is that the housing for the electronics overlaps this by a tiny amount, so you are hitting the plastic housing instead of the metal. If you don't understand what I'm talking about then 99% chance this won't affect you. But I do consider this a design flaw. It just won't bother me for anything I'm doing. If it ever does I'll take my drimel and shave off those few thousands of an inch of plastic which is hanging over.

Just What I Was Looking For

I had ordered this caliper after ordering one that was less expensive and did not offer the results I was looking for. I am happy to say, that this caliper from Hardell was exactly what I was looking for. My initial reaction is a quality product from the construction of the caliper down to the storage case it came in. It appears to be well thought out and I have found the precision and the ease of use to be just what I needed. The options for American and Metric measuring is also another advantage of the tool. I specifically went with the black measuring guide as it made it easy for me when looking at lighter colored materials contrasting with the black.

Would be a 5 but I don't like the case

I bought these specifically for measuring the walls of my 3D prints, and they have been a game-changer. The accuracy seems exactly as advertised, and the stainless steel build feels high-quality. If you're tired of guessing measurements with a ruler, these are a solid investment, though the packaging leaves a bit to be desired. The Pros Customizable Tension: I love that it has a tension screw. You can adjust it so the movement is stiffer or looser depending on your preference, which is great for holding a measurement while you move the tool. Smooth Operation: The thumb wheel movement is very fluid and doesn't hitch or skip, making it easy to get those precise 0.01mm readings. Easy to Read: The LCD screen is large and clear, which is a huge help when you're checking dozens of measurements during a long project. Solid Build: The stainless steel body feels much more professional and durable than the cheap plastic versions. The Cons The Case Sucks: While the tool is great, the case is poorly designed. There is no dedicated slot or compartment for the extra battery, so every time you open the case, the spare battery just falls out. It’s a minor annoyance that becomes frustrating quickly. Battery Storage: Because the battery just rattles around, I'm always worried it’s going to get lost or damaged. Final Verdict: For the price, the tool itself is a 5-star item. It’s reliable, smooth, and perfect for makers and hobbyists. However, because of the "battery-ejecting" case, I'm giving it a 4.

Nice quality and game changing for 3D printing

This is a game changer for 3-D printing. I am able to model and fabricate parts much more easily now that I can get an accurate measurement. I’ve wanted Vernier calipers for a long time since I’ve used them when I worked in a factory. I don’t know why I didn’t buy these sooner. The quality on this is really nice, feels heavy and well made.

Great quality at an unbelievable price

I was off work this week and needed a set of calipers to measure a part that I wanted to copy and 3D print. My go-to calipers are Mititoyo's, but I left them at work and didn't want to drive in to get them... These aren't Mititoyo, but, IMO, they are almost as good... I made a ton of measurements and found them to be very repeatable. I would not hesitate to buy them again!
