Excellent for water aerobics

My daughter wanted a pair of aquatic exercise dumbbells to stay active in our swimming pool while recovering from a stress fracture in her ankle. Her doctor advised her to avoid putting weight on her foot for the time being but recommended pool-based workouts, including aqua jogging, as a low-impact alternative. Because she was accustomed to training daily for track, she was motivated to find a way to maintain her fitness levels without aggravating her injury. She has been using these water dumbbells while jogging in the pool to add resistance to her upper body. Unlike traditional weights, these are made from buoyant foam and create resistance through drag instead of weight. The key is to keep them underwater, which increases the effort required to move them. The included instructions introduced her to a variety of pool exercises she can do using the dumbbells. She has also come up with additional routines on her own. These dumbbells can be used for light or intense workouts, depending on pace and range of motion. One feature we really appreciate is the extra attachments that allow them to be converted into a barbell. This adds more variety to her training and makes the product even more useful. Overall, these water dumbbells have allowed her to stay active without putting pressure on her healing ankle. She is very pleased with them, and we have been impressed with the quality and versatility they offer.

I had no idea pool weights even existed. These are by far the coolest fitness equipment I’ve purchased for myself. I’ve been on my fitness journey for these past few months and this combines my favorite hobby with fitness. Now I look forward to arm workouts. It sounds silly to think these lightweight foam dumbbells could offer any sort of fitness improvement but let me tell you, after just a few reps my arms were feeling it! All while I got to enjoy cooling off in the pool. I will be using these every time I’m in for a swim!

These work great and come already assembled as dumbbells. I just had to screw the cap into the ends. The set included 2 extra dumbbell extension bars to combine and make one long barbell. I prefer to use them as dumbbells and for my workout I tried the exercises on the box they were packed in.

This arrived well packaged. The water barbells and bar attachment are well designed and work well in the pool. To remove any water trapped inside, you can easily remove the end plugs after use. But this set is not useful as the company describes on the Amazon page. It is specifically useful for negative movement. Any exercise that involves pushing downward or holding down while moving sideways is perfect for these "weights." But bicep curls and overhead presses and basically any pulling or pushing upward exercise would actually require you to stand on your head underwater to have any effect. This set is a good augment to an "on land" exercise routine that consists of all of the curls and overhead presses and rows. The set is best for tricep pushdowns and lateral pushdowns with arms extended from your shoulders to the side. I was able to do forward pressdowns by holding one barbell behind me and pushing down with the other. This kept me from traveling too much in the pool. And I was able to swing the weights about a foot underwater, side to side. This was basically an abdominal exercise of the obliques and transversus abdominus muscles. I know the company would like you to think this is a total exercise solution, but it is actually a kind of fun adjunct to your on ground exercise routine. So, overall good, but not for the reasons you'd expect. And for about twenty-seven dollars with the current coupon it is a reasonable value for money.

A nice set of water weights. They have a nice feel to the grip and come with sections that can be added to combine into one unit. The weights of course aren’t heavy as the resistance comes from friction with the water. Easy to use and clean, these are a beneficial addition to a water exercise program.

I've been using my pool every day to exercise from stretching to walking to running. I saw these "HAPBEAR Water Weights Pool Exercise Dumbbells, Three-in-one Aquatic Exercise Dumbbells, High-Density EVA-Foam Pool Fitness for Water Aerobics Weight Loss, Aquatic Dumbells Set of 2" and thought I'd give them a try. I've never used pool dumbbells so I wasn't sure if they would really work considering they are only made of foam. I was pleasantly surprised at how much resistance there is using them. The manufacturer even sends a page of exercises you can follow. The dumbbells can be transitioned into a bar. They are easy to assemble and disassemble and come with end caps. They dry out very quickly too. You can also just use them to float. I had one in each hand with my arms outstretched and was able to just relax and float too! I am happy with these.

These water weights are a great addition to our pool workouts. They are easy to assemble. Love the blue and white marble design. They handle well in the water and create a good amount of resistance to work your muscles. This is the only set I have had before that allows you to use it as a barbell too and I really like that feature. Definitely recommend.
