This is my third feeder replacing two I’ve had for about three years. I like this feeder so much, I’ve just ordered a fourth all in the brown color. Easy to clean and it’s not adjustable like other feeders I’ve seen on Amazon. To me, the more moving parts there are the more problems you could have. The plastic cup holds two cups of seed, the canopy is wide and helps to keep the seed dry. The perch goes all around the feeder allowing more birds to feed. The wire for hanging is sturdy as well as the whole unit. I like that the canopy is attached which makes for easy refills. The design for opening and closing the canopy is secure. I’ve had no problem with it coming open even in the wind. I live in Southern California and these feeders are in full sun with no shade along with the cold, wind and rain. Got this to give the little birds a chance against the squirrels family. The parents and their kid had taken to laying over the food in the sunflower feeder while eating all the food. Greedy! The chickadees, marsh tits, cardinals, and blue jays all fed from the new feeder within a few hours of installing it. It worked against the squirrels (so far) - neither the baby nor the dad has figured out how to negotiate their way into the feeder. The dad stood on the fence and cussed me out after he gave up trying to get to the nuts and seeds. And the food survived the hard rain last night, not soggy at all. The feeder is pretty lightweight, and at this price, if I have to replace it after a few years in the harsh Texas sun it won't be a big expense. Success! ... show more

I purchased two of these, I like them so much. They hold a lot of seed, are attractive without being cutesy, and are easy to open, fill, and hang. The only issue I have with them is that they are not at all squirrel-proof, as described. Several days in a row squirrels emptied the one I hung in my backyard less than two hours after I filled it. This is not a huge deal to me, as in all other ways the feeder is perfect. I'll find a truly squirrel resistant feeder for my apparently squirrel-happy backyard and move that one somewhere else. ... show more

I ordered these feeders to protect my smaller bird population which was being bullied by cowbirds and grackles. I also hoped to discourage the squirrels from dumping the seed. It worked like a charm! This bird feeder is great has a enough room for all the seeds that I wanted to add to it, 5 stars, easy to clean 5 stars, and easy to assemble 5 stars, the price, and the fast shipping 5 stars, sturdy 5 stars but the base of the feeder is too small, and the birds that I have visit can't stand to get the seed, so 4 1/2 star, smaller birds can get to the seed without too much effort, but the blackbirds make a mess, they flap to stay on the base and they empty the feeder, they sometimes get to a point where they just give up, I ended up throwing the seed on the ground so they all could enjoy it, a bigger base for this feeder would make it a strong 5-star product. ... show more

I really like this particular birdfeeder, because it allows the tiny birds that come to it for the sunflower seed to perch on a circle bar surrounding the feeder. Other feeders that I've had have a very sharp edged trough around them. Me thinks that would be very uncomfortable for their wee little feet. ... show more
