This is a nice light weight cast net. Wouldn't use it for more than bait fish. The weights are shaped differently than other nets I've used and they seem to grab more vegetation off the bottom. Not sure if it's due to their shape but larger fish are able to escape through the weights. It does hold smaller fish well, though. Small bream about 2 inches long were caught with no problem. They also came out easily and didn't get caught up in the net's holes as has happened with other nets when their gills get stuck. It casts well and has a nice spread. This is the first cast net that I own, so I do not have others to compare it to, but I like it. It seems well constructed, comes in a storage box and even has a kit to repair tears in the net. I need more practice throwing it, but this is one useful tool for catching bait.

I finally got to take this to our dock. My son wanted to catch bait fish that would could use for fishing. The net works and we are easily able to get both shrimp and bait fish easily. We were even able to put it back in the container after use but I would recommend letting it dry first. I didn't the first time and it smelled bad from the bacteria in the water. The second time I hosed it off with fresh water and let it dry and its now fine. ... show more

This cast net casts very well. It easily comes out as a circle especially at a short radius. The sinkers are a bit heavy but that's due to a faster sink rate to make sure the fish doesn't escape to the bottom. The eyes are about an inch opening. It comes with everything you need in order to catch baitfish. The monofilament used to create this cast net is around eight to ten pound test. So, if you snag reef, you pretty much will have holes that you'll have to patch up. Other than that, there is that feature where if you push a plate down, any fish that's trapped within the cast net will be released in the bucket or cooler of yours. OMG finally got to try this Net.. Was so excited. Threw it a total of a dozen times and nylon rope on lead line popped in half... I had to tie it back together..Looked at webbing tied to lead line. Webbing started to break off. Where is quality control??? This is so unacceptable... I can't send it back I'm on a boat for the winter.. ... show more
