My initial rod arrived damaged, but customer service was amazing and worked with me to get a replacement right away. I got the ML version, but it does feel a bit more like a M. The rod has nice action and a great backbone. It held up great when I took it out to fish for a few hours. I will say I like this one much more than the M1. While the joint connecting the pieces on the M1 felt loose and I had to remember to tighten it up occasionally, this one stayed tight through the whole trip. I bought the two piece 8ft long ML - MF action. Labelled for 8 - 14 lb line weight and 6 - 18 grams lure weights (1/5 - 5/8 oz). I wanted additional easy distance in casting on wide rivers, and think this could do it. However, it's seems pretty stiff for a trout rod, and the line and lure weights suggest be better for bass or walleye. Quite a few eyelets, 9, nice - line will be well supported. Since October of 23 I have bought 5 magic l rods both spinning and casting, I have love all until last week. In a one-week period I have two of these rods break. Mind you I rotate my rods, so they are all stored and cleaned after ever use. The first one I was loading in the cab of truck and just skimmed the roof interior, and it snapped like a foot and have down from the tip. I was like just from that little bump. Als so that week my adult daughter was using one and she stated when retrieving a perch super small the tip just broke off. They of course where beyond the amazon 30 day return. Ok they had email server issues and now have gone above and beyond to make this right, so much so I bough one of their reels and going to give it a try. ... show more

Super impressed with the quality and look of this rod at the price point perfectly balanced with my reel as well. Although I will say it feels faster than a moderate fast which is a good thing IMO. Edit: I have had it for about 2 weeks and broke off the tip today when it was underneath another rod it was not at the fault of the rod though, and Handing generously replaced the rod free of charge, even though I was at fault super impressed with the service and they have earned a long term customer! ... show more

I have the 7' ML casting rod. Rod came in a nice cover. The action is moderate, bending parabolic down to guide by ferrule. It is truly a medium light action. Quality is good all around. Guides, reel seat, handle and blank have good fit and finish. Feels very sensitive for a 2-pc rod. I plan to use it for 1/4 - 3/8 ounce lures for bass. I think a 1/2 ounce would be pushing it to it's limits. I believe it compares well with rods costing 2-3 times price I paid of under $50. I recommend it. ... show more
