  • A must-have if you're a retro bootleg connoisseur
Color: Blue
This device comes packaged with, as advertised, 289 games, many of which are incredibly old arcade and retro titles. While not all of them are the classics, there are a few good picks here, like Galaga and Dig-Dug, that can keep you occupied when you need a device with no internet connection but want to play some older games. The controls are responsive enough, but are a bit mushy. The menu navigation is not incredibly intuitive, but the limited controls make it easy enough to figure out. The manual does not include a game list, nor does there seem to be one online. The screen quality is good enough, and the device is bright. It will last you about 6 hours on a full charge. The device is about as large as a thick wallet, and can fit in your pocket or purse easily. For the price, you're getting an okay collection of games that include some classics and some interesting lesser-known titles. ... show more

  • Retro games you've never heard of. Retro games you've never heard of.
Color: Red
It is a nice size, a bit wider/thicker than a phone, the buttons are goodly placed/spaced. The screen is big enough for what it outputs, the colors are sufficient, no stutters or glitches in playback. The words for the top switch, plug are upside down on the back of the case. Could use a few lower volume settings: a little louder than wanted at even the quietest: some games are far louder than the others. The sound is good (enough), given the source bitrate. Tried plugging a headset directly into the USB-C: no sound through; tried a USB to headphone adapter: no sound. The sounds only come out of the speaker: Minus One Star, we should be able to hear it without bothering others; no dedicated headphone jack. [Were I to keep this, I would tape over the front speaker to make it quieter.] The volume resets to second-from-lowest when pressing the Reset button, such to get back to the Home Menu. Yes, the volume does have an Off setting. Plugged it into my computer: started charging, a red light on the front lit up. The computer did not recognize this as an external drive, sadly. The instructions state: "Supports NES game format." I have a zipfile full of old games, had hoped to be able to drag/drop them into this, such to have the games I want it didn't come with… No such luck, too bad. Games I recognized, of the 289 included: Transformers, Xevious, Paperboy, Freecell, Seawolf, B-Wings, Spider Man (1,2), Angry Birds, Back To The Future, Space Invaders, Mortal Kombat (4), Spy Vs Spy, Goonies, Friday The 13th, Contra (24In1: different weapons), Labyrinth, Dig Dug, Last Starfighter, Double Dragon II, Galaga, Burger Time, Macross, Millipede, Othello, Pacland, Robocop, Street Fighter (2010). The Home Menu fits ten game names, press Up/Down to scroll one at a time or Left/Right to scroll pages. Games are in no discernible order: alphabetical, year, creator, console from. There are No Settings (language, power-down timer, sort order, manufacturer, version, update). The six-second background ditty when on Home keeps repeating, never stops; the device does not shut itself off, no off-timer should you leave it running unattended (at least for the fifteen+ minutes before I got sick of it, gave up waiting). The buttons are good, solid click (sound) to them, I didn't mispress any: once I adapted to where they were… A is on the bottom, B on the right, X on the left, Y up top. Same as ‘modern’ controllers, not how I remember it being, back in the day. Would make more sense (to me) for A/B to be Left/Right, X/Y Top/Bottom. X and Y function either the same as A and B unless the game has double/triple shot/jump/punch functions programmed in, then that's how they operate. Tried to make it Two Player, as the instructions indicated it could… Didn't work, tried two different controllers plugged in: nada. Also, I tried cheat codes on Contra (U,U,D,D,L,R,L,R,B,A,Start): didn't work. There's no way to Save your games, always begin back over from the start: too bad. The battery should last long enough, an hour of fiddling and it still is at 2/3 bars: same as out-of-the-box. Comes with a screen protector already affixed: appreciated. Overall– Three Stars: best I can give it for lacking simple (modern) features like Save, Add your own games; lower volume. Good enough, presuming it has the games you want to play, are in a Retro Mood. ... show more

  • Cute! Cheap looking and Plastic-y but perfect for what it is, ESPECIALLY the price point! Cute! Cheap looking and Plastic-y but perfect for what it is, ESPECIALLY the price point!
Color: Red
Pure Retro Nostalgia in the Palm of Your Hand—Fantastic Battery Life! As an Amazon Vine reviewer, I have a massive soft spot for retro gaming, and this mini handheld console is an absolute gem. It packs a surprising amount of old-school entertainment into a highly portable, incredibly budget-friendly package. Here is why this handheld console is a total winner for kids and nostalgic adults alike: 🎮 Massive Game Library & Intuitive Interface With 289 built-in super classic video games, the variety is fantastic. It immediately transports you back to the golden era of 8-bit gaming. The user interface is completely hassle-free and friendly, making it seamless to jump from game to game. It’s a wonderful tool for younger kids as it naturally helps build hand-eye coordination without the complexity (or internet-connected risks) of modern smartphones or advanced consoles. 🔋 Great Rechargeable Battery Life One of the best upgrades this mini console has over traditional retro toys is the built-in 800mAh rechargeable lithium battery. You don't have to constantly scramble to find AAA batteries when it dies. A full charge gives you up to 4 hours of continuous gameplay, which is more than enough to keep anyone entertained during long waits. ✈️ Pocket-Sized, Portable, and Trendy The design is compact, lightweight, and delightfully retro. It fits easily into a backpack, jacket pocket, or carry-on bag, making it a brilliant travel companion. Whether you are trying to keep kids quiet on an airplane, sitting around a campfire, or just killing time on your daily train commute to work, its bright screen and clear images keep you completely immersed. It feels a little cheap and plasticky, but kids won't care. It's perfect for what it is, espeically the price. 💡 Pro-Tip for Buyers When you first unbox the console, it might look like the screen has minor scuffs. Don't worry—it's just a protective film! Simply peel off the screen protection layer, and you’ll find a perfectly pristine, crystal-clear display underneath. 🎁 The Perfect Nostalgic Gift At its price point, this console makes an amazing stocking stuffer, birthday surprise, or casual gift for anyone who appreciates old-school gaming. It's incredibly easy to operate right out of the box, requiring zero setup or Wi-Fi configuration. Bottom Line: This handheld brings massive value, excellent battery convenience, and hours of screen-clear entertainment. It’s a durable, fun, and simple way to share childhood memories with the next generation. Highly recommended! ... show more

  • Low quality, not very much fun.
Color: Blue
I’m not much for video games, but when I do play them, I like to play the classic arcade games that I had when I was a kid. I’ve seen products like this advertised on a lot of different sites, but was always a little bit skeptical when they said how many games it included. When Amazon offered to send me this one to test and review, I figured I would check it out and see if it was worth the hype. Unfortunately, I don’t think it’s very good quality. It arrived well packaged, and in good condition. It seemed to be free of any defects. The enclosure is made a plastic. It has a small LCD display. The display had surprisingly decent quality. I was also impressed with the number of games. I did not appreciate that you had to scroll through page after page after page after page in order to find the games. It might’ve been nicer if they had categorized them by platform. That, however, was not my issue. My problem with this product is the buttons. There is a substantial lag between pressing the buttons and the response. I don’t know if it’s a latency issue, a quality issue, or just a lack of processing speed, but it’s really annoying. You’ll never be able to re-create your all-time high score on space invaders with this little dinky thing. Your ship won’t move fast enough and won’t fire fast enough to make it past the first couple levels. Overall, I’m rather disappointed with the quality, design, and lack of functionality of this product. I would not recommend it, as it is not a good value for the money. ... show more

  • Fun Retro Game Collection with Tons of Variety
Color: Cyan
This handheld retro game system comes packed with a huge library of games—around 289 in total—so there’s definitely no shortage of options to explore. It includes a mix of classics and lesser-known titles, and I was surprised to see some recognizable ones like Bomberman, Friday the 13th, Transformers, Adventure Island, Paperboy, Back to the Future, Space Invaders, Mortal Kombat 4, and more. The games that I’ve played so far do a good job of matching that old-school retro style, which really brings back the nostalgic feel. There’s a lot of variety, and it’s fun just scrolling through and discovering games you’ve never heard of before. I’m giving it 4 stars mainly because there are no instructions on which buttons do what, so you have to figure things out through trial and error. It takes a little time to get used to the controls. I also wish it included some of the more iconic titles like Mario or Pac-Man, but unfortunately those aren’t part of the collection. Overall though, it’s a fun little device with tons of games and a solid retro experience once you get the hang of it. Great value, works good. Fun to use. ... show more

  • Fun Nostalgic Idea, But the Quality Could Be Better Fun Nostalgic Idea, But the Quality Could Be Better
Color: Red
This little handheld game system immediately caught my attention because it reminded me of the portable gaming devices I had growing up. The design definitely has that nostalgic retro look, and I was excited to try it out expecting a fun throwback experience. One positive is that it comes loaded with a large variety of games, so there is plenty to scroll through and try out. For kids especially, having so many different game options in one small device is convenient and entertaining. The compact size also makes it easy to travel with or throw into a bag for car rides and downtime. However, the actual gaming experience itself was a bit underwhelming. While there are a lot of games included, the graphics are pretty basic and outdated looking, and the sound quality is also lacking. Some games were still enjoyable for quick play sessions, but overall the system does not feel as polished as I hoped it would. The console itself is lightweight plastic. It feels okay in hand and comfortable enough to hold, but it does not feel especially sturdy or durable. I would definitely be careful with it because it seems like it could crack or break if dropped too hard, especially by younger kids. The rechargeable battery is convenient, and the screen size works well enough for portable play, but overall this feels more like a budget novelty gaming system rather than a high quality handheld console. In the end, I think this is decent for younger children or for someone wanting a simple retro style gaming toy at an affordable price, but expectations should be kept realistic regarding the graphics, sound quality, and overall durability. ... show more

  • Junky garbage that does not even work Junky garbage that does not even work
Color: Red
I would love to review this item, but I can’t even get it to turn on. It arrived in a small box with the battery rattling around loose next to the unit. The battery looks like one of those older-style cell phone batteries. I inserted it into the battery slot, plugged the unit in to charge, and waited and waited, but it never charged and never turned on. There is a small red light on the module where the charger plugs in, but I have no idea if it’s actually charging. In fact, I removed the battery completely and plugged it in again, and the red light still came on even with no battery installed. I also noticed that the battery contacts/pins inside the unit look bent or mangled, which may be the real issue. It feels like very poor manufacturing quality. To make things worse, there’s an on/off switch on the top, but nothing is labeled, so I have no idea which direction is on or off. Avoid this product. Do not buy it. You’ll just end up with a useless piece of garbage. ... show more

  • Retro Handheld Games Console
Color: Blue
This took me straight back to the 90s! The buttons have a nice, clicky responsiveness and don't feel "mushy" at all. The screen is bright enough to see even when we were sitting on the porch in the afternoon. It comes with a massive variety of games, everything from puzzles to platformers, so there is something for every age. Pro Tip: If the kids are playing, show them how to use the "reset" button to quickly switch between games without having to power the whole thing off. Pro: Incredible battery life and a very lightweight, pocket-sized design. Con: The built-in speaker is quite loud even on the lower settings, but it's a fun, nostalgic sound. A perfect, affordable travel companion that keeps everyone entertained without needing a WiFi connection. ... show more
