If you spend much time outside in the winter, I think you'll find this item extremely helpful. These handwarmers are extremely easy to use - they recharge using standard USB C. They do come with their own somewhat specialized plug that splits in two so you can charge both warmers at the same time, but you can also use any USB C charging cord you have already so long as you don't mind only charging one at a time. Once they're charged, just hold the button for 2 seconds to turn them on or off, press the button once while on to change the heat setting (a small red light indicates low, medium or high), or double-click the button quickly to show the remaining battery life (which shows 1-3 blue lights depending on the charge.) In terms of the warming, I'm not sure if these have a thermometer in them or not. I think they may just use a timer based on the selected mode, with the high setting leaves the heating element on full-time, while low and medium toggle off and on at intervals (medium remaining on for a longer time than low.) The high setting actually gets extremely warm, more than I find comfortable, though I suppose my opinion might change there if I was in -20 degree weather... Though I do like the product over all, I am taking off a star because the battery life doesn't live up to anywhere near the promised 20 hours. I used them on low for about 4 hours and they were nearly drained at that point (or at least the battery status was at 1 blue dot, which is supposed to indicate <40% charge left.) I think you might at best get about 6 hours of use out of them on the low setting. Which really isn't bad at all, in my opinion, just not close to the 20 hours stated.

These are nice handwarmers that come in a nice box if you wanted to present them as a gift. They're comfortable and easy to hold onto and would fit inside most gloves or mittens, but probably not a leather driving glove-too bulky for that. Of course they are perfect for pockets if you need a quick hand warming every now and then. If you have inside pockets in you jacket or vest (or even in your shirt) they would provide enough heat to keep your body warm as well. They charge with a double USB (A to C) charging cord, per the photos. They had a medium charge (indicated by the 3 blue charging lights) upon arrival so I don't know how long they take for a full charge but it took about an hour to go from 2 lights to 3 which is a full charge. To turn them on, press the red button for 2-3 seconds and they will be on the lowest warmth setting. 1 quick push of the button raises the temperature to medium and 1 more button push brings you to the highest heat setting. They heat quickly-within seconds. I found that the highest temperature could actually be way too hot if the warmer is directly next to your skin. I would be careful of letting a child use this unit unsupervised or, if you are a person who has difficulty determining heat levels, keep it on the lowest setting. The heat settings adjust themselves within a certain range on each heat level. Sometimes I touch the warmers and I feel like they could actually burn me but other times, on the same setting, they feel fine. Just be careful. I don't see any way to replace the lithium battery in these units so I guess after the batteries die, you toss them out. The two warmers do click together, back to back, if you wanted to have all around warmth in one unit. After a full charge, one hand warmer stayed warm for 8 hours and the other only 5 hours. To be fair, the one that lasted 5 hours was on the highest setting the whole time and the other was initially on the lowest setting for an hour and then switched to the highest for the remainder. Still, they did not hold a charge for 20 hours per the item description.

These things heat up fast and for their small size, weight and price I was questioning the 20 hour length. After about a minute of turning it on I realized how they run for 20 hours (for the record I did not test their longevity, just reiterating what they claim. I am never in a position that I need them for 20 hours). The heating area is small. It is just the oval on the front of the unit with the blue stripe (2.5" x 1.5"). I do not have large hands by any means and I found myself moving the warmers around in my hand to it warm all areas. The plus side is that the #3 setting is mighty warm and if I do not move my hands around it gets a little to hot for me. I have a trip planned for November that I will be utilizing these on. Will update if anything needs to be.

It's compact, fits right in your pockets, and heats up quickly. The curved design makes it more comfortable if you want to put them in your pants side pockets. I thought the whole device will get warm but it seems like the heating element is only on one side. Also, the outside is made out of plastic so I'm not sure how well it will handle the heat if left on for hours. A carry pouch would've been nice.
