They're very easy to use. Easy to turn on and set the heat level, easy to turn off, and even easy to determine the remaining charge. If I could change anything, I'd prefer they were a little bit larger. But that's just picking nits. ====================== APPEARANCE Many reviewers mention the cute owl imprint on the two handwarmers. The truth is you'll rarely see them because most people use handwarmers in their coat pockets. And the charging base has a lid that hides the owl patterns. But the owl imprint grooves do allow for slightly better traction when using the handwarmers. Other than that, the matte black plastic finish and the blue control button are attractive enough. -- The charging base is a square plastic box with rounded corners that looks nice enough for the function provided. HAND WARMER FUNCTIONS Turn On: Press and hold the blue button until one red light is lit. Turn Off: Press and hold the blue button until all lights are off. Change Temperature: Briefly press the blue button to cycle through the Low-Medium-High settings. Red Lights: One=Low Two=Medium Three=High > In my experience the Low setting is comfortably warm on bare hands, and it's what I use. I don't wear gloves and find the Medium & High settings to be warm enough to be uncomfortable. Especially the High setting. CHECK THE REMAINING CHARGE IN THE HAND Warmers Outside of the base, quickly press the blue button twice. The # of blue lights will reveal the approximate remaining charge. BLUE LIGHTS: None=fully discharged, One=33%, Two=66%, Three=100% CHARGING LIGHTS Base: 4 blue lights indicate charge level. Blinking lights indicate the batteries are charging. Hand Warmers: 3 blue lights indicate charge level. Blinking lights indicate the batteries are charging. CHARGING BASE > The hand warmers are rechargeable, but so is the charging base. This allows you to take the base with you so you can re-charge the hand warmers another 2 or 3 times while you're on the go, or just away from an electric source. > The charging base includes a USB-C connection, and it comes with a short USB-A to USB-C cable so you can charge the base by connecting it to any charging source that has a USB-A connection, including computers. > When the hand warmers are placed in the base they are automatically turned off (if they are on), fully charged, and the charging circuit is then turned off. It appears that the hand warmers remain topped up indefinitely for the next use. > Using the USB-C connection, the charging base functions as a power bank for other devices as well. This is only a list item in the product details, but this function could come in handy for charging cell phones and other items. > The base has a hinged lid that keeps the dust out and possibly keeps little fingers and paws from probing the interior. The smooth-cornered lid also provides a nicer appearance for the base while sitting on a table or counter surface. The lid does not have a mechanical closure, but is held shut with an appropriate-strength magnet. CHARGING TIME > The product description states recharge time is 2-3 hours. My Experience: I tend to use them until they stop working, so are fully discharged. At that point it takes a full 3 hours to fully charge them. > Using them to complete discharge, I found I could get about 3 charges from the unplugged base. HOW LONG DOES EACH CHARGE LAST? How much time you get from each charge depends on how they're used. Of course if you're using the High setting you will get much less time than when using the Low setting. > The hand warmers function by periodically cycling and providing enough heat to maintain the pre-set temperature. I've found that when nestling the hand warmers in comfy well padded coat pockets they last much longer than when stowing them in the pockets of my windbreaker. This seems obvious but it bears keeping in mind when heading outdoors. Maybe stuff some wool gloves or scarves in your pockets to help retain the heat. BATTERIES > The Li-Ion batteries in the base and in the hand warmers are not replaceable. > Most recommendations I've seen state Li-Ion batteries should be stored in a low to medium state of charge. In practice, during the warm months I'll take note of how long it takes for these batteries to self-discharge. I'll then try to not allow them to fully discharge and I'll not fully charge them until the cold months come around again. IT'S MAGNETIC > The lid for the charging base has a magnetic closure. > The hand warmers are held in place by magnets when in the charging base. > When the flat sides of the hand warmers are placed together, head-to-toe, they are held together with magnets. According to the item description this gives you one large handwarmer. It's unclear where this would be useful. Perhaps in the front pocket of a pullover sweatshirt. WARRANTY The item description says it has a 5-year replacement warranty but I wouldn't expect that to mean much. The Chinese brand name UJYOIIY is relatively new and almost no information on that brand can be found. It appears to be just another disposable unpronounceable Chinese brand name. But don't let that influence your decision to buy. These hand warmers are inexpensive and for the few weeks I've owned mine, I love them.

Not only are these little guys cuter than anything, but they also totally exceeded my expectations. They warm up REALLY FAST!! I thought the short time advertised might have been a bit over hyped, but NO!! When you turn them on to the first setting, they are hot in like 5-6 seconds. They cycle up to max heat, then down, then back up again. The coolest thing I love about this product, which I'm not sure comes across in the description, is that the base/holder case, is a power bank!! When you plug it in on the charger cable, it charges up the holder, then even when it's not plugged in and you put your warmers in the holder, it charges them up to full as long as it has power from a previous charge. This was way more than I expected. I thought, eh, low heat, plug in to charge all the time, slow heating, but NO!! This is truly a great product! if you're thinking about something like this, then this is the one to get.

These hand warmers really heat up! On the max setting, it feels like holding a hot coffee cup. I love the charging case because it keeps everything in one place, making it easy to charge both warmers at once—great for keeping in your car or bag. I haven’t tested how long they last on a single charge yet, but so far, they’ve been solid. The only downside is the case—it’s pretty big, so you’ll need a bag to carry it around. But I think it can double as a portable charger, which is a nice bonus!
