I used this to transfer diesel fuel from barrels to 5 Gal containers. The process was tedious and a but messy. Some other hose types would make it easier. The plastic threaded ring that threads into the barrel is flimsy, but threads in. The crank seal did leak , running fuel down the handle and on some things. I managed to pump out 45 gallons eventually, but lost some fuel along the process. 3 stars for the pump, and another star for their great customer service. They did get in touch with me to help anyway they could, and they offered great help. ... show more

    • Works great for pumping water out of a barrel!
I bought this to get water easily out of rain barrels in my garden. It works great. A few turns of the crank and the water starts flowing. Not a lot of effort to fill up a bucket.

I find this manual pump to be highly suitable for my 55-gallon drum, which I use as a diesel pump. Its convenience is impressive and it appears to be a centrifugal pump. The weight of the pump body material is considerable, and I observed some lubricant inside that is presumably used to lubricate the pump body.     • Easy to assemble and use.
The delivery of the product was fast, and the product was also well packaged. It was easy to assemble the parts together and make the transfer pump to function. I tried using the pump to transfer liquid from a big tank into small containers and it did its job perfectly.

    • Terrible quality control. Metal burrs all over
Overall quality of the product is okay. There was a ton of metal burrs from the manufacturing process in all of the metal tubes. I had to deburr all the edges and clean all the tubes before even considering using it to pump fuel. Those burs would definitely cause issues to a vehicles fueling system. After cleaning i ran a fuel gallons through it and checked. Was some more burrs in the fuel but eventually it clean up. Looking back i should have returned it. ... show more
