Uses a separate reservoir for the water and the brewed coffee. Makes consistently great coffee. Very easy to clean. My only issue with it is the control buttons. They're very difficult to press, especially when trying to set the timer. Otherwise, hands down the best coffeemaker I've ever owned.

The first thing you'll notice is how it brews coffee that's not only hotter than most but also rich and full of flavor. It's a game-changer for your morning cup. Filling it up with water is super easy, and taking care of it is a breeze. It's the kind of coffee maker that fits right into a busy lifestyle, whether at home or in the office. I spent a lifetime perfecting the art of clutz, but so far, not even I have been able to spill water while filling this reservoir. One thing to note: it doesn't have a 'pause-and-serve' feature. Once you start brewing, you've got to wait it out until it's done. It's a bit of a bummer if you're used to grabbing a cup mid-brew. This coffee maker and I have shared some serious morning stare-downs when I forget to set it up the night before. I swear, sometimes it slows down on purpose. Overall, the Hamilton Beach One Press 47600 nails it with great coffee and user-friendly features. It's almost perfect, except for that one little hitch. We love our so much (and company does too!) that my in-laws ordered the same unit, two sets of family friends, and we gifted one to my mother at Christmas time. Definitely a sturdier push lever than the original HB maker that needs to be replaced, I went with this model and we’ll see if this model holds up. Make’s good coffee and looks nice.

It is a bit more complicated to take apart between uses. It truly is better to get your coffee out of a glass pot! I wish it didn't make noise to dispense the coffee, but it is necessary as it is now not a gravity feed. Still I love my press and serve coffee pot! I cannot be trusted to pour coffee out of a glass carafe in the morning! I have loved this style dispenser for 20 years! ... show more
