This little Hamilton Beach dishwasher is awesome! Doesn’t take up much room in the kitchen, easy even for 98-pound weaklings to wheel to the sink & connect hoses to faucet & use it. I ran it on the heavy cycle for its maiden voyage because I had very dirty dishes piled up. That cycle does take a long time, but everything came out so squeaky clean! It is whisper-quiet to operate — my bathroom exhaust fan is more audible in my kitchen than this cute thing is when I’m sitting right next to it. I had to wait a day or two to try it out because I needed to order wrenches to switch the faucet-tip to fit the dishwasher’s hose adapter (my house is in chaos right now, can’t find lots of things, but with a working dishwasher again, I hope to get the mess under better control). Amazon came through with quick delivery of wrenches so I could go forward with using it. I’m so happy now! My back hurts too much standing at the sink handwashing dishes, & it’s not a very efficient use of the time/efforts of house cleaners. This model holds plenty for a single person or two, the Energy Star rating says it uses less than $25/year in electricity (even if it’s double that, no sweat), & dishwashers don’t really use much water compared to handwashing. Plus, you can sterilize things like glass jars for canning even if you don’t do a sterilizing seal. I don’t can fruit or jam much, but I do make kimchi & other fermented stuff. Heat processing kills the good microorganisms (with beneficial effects), so I don’t do that, but I need to sterilize the containers *before* filling them to prevent competition from unwanted buggies. One note: the dishwasher delivery was to my front porch, & in the box it is a 2-man job to move it. No problem, I just unboxed it on the porch & wheeled it inside. It arrives in manufacturer packaging so your neighbors will know what you got anyway, there’s no privacy reason not to unbox it outside. Once you free it from the box, cardboard pallet & styrofoam, it’s easy for one person to move into the house, tho. Photo of sparkling clean dishes for tax. ... show more

Purchased this for my mobile home last November! So far no issues(knock on wood) works perfect, does an amazing job (even when slightly over loaded)! Fits perfect in my small kitchen! Perfect for a 1 to 2 person household! Price is pretty decent too!

    • Cheaper than couples counseling!
I purchased this dishwasher after extensive research into different portable dishwashers. My partner and I live in an historic apartment building (over 110 years old!) but all that charm comes with drawbacks, chief among them being the lack of dishwasher and garbage disposal. My partner and I both hate handwashing dishes. It had become a point of contention in our relationship. This dishwasher has been a game changer! Getting it setup was really simple. It performs amazingly and isn’t too loud. I was shocked by how many dishes fit inside! It’s almost the size of a built-in dishwasher! We use the 90 minute cycle most of the time and it cleans everything like a champ. One thing we’ve learned is that it doesn’t need very much detergent at all to clean, we usually fill it under the first fill line. Also make sure you tighten the hoses as much as possible when setting up! If you have plumbing tape handy, put some on first. Overall, if you are in need of a portable dishwasher and want one that is as close to a built-in dishwasher, this model is for you! ... show more

Great dishwasher. Shipping can be rough for it though. Ours had a smaller dent in the back but it didn't affect the overall condition and function so I let it slide and it has served me well. It's super quiet and cleans really well. Would highly recommend.

    • Water hoses are too short!
This Hamilton Beach (HBDW1922) by Curtis replaces a RCA (RDW1809-B-WHITE) by Curtis that I had for a number of years. The two washers are almost alike--this is important to note. The Hamilton Beach water hoses are too short (just 60 inches long). They barely reach and because they are short the drainage outlet one doesn't connect properly and leaks. Fortunately I was able to switch them with the RCA water hoses which are ALMOST A FOOT LONGER. Once that was done, the machine worked well. ... show more
