I always thought that this model Hamilton's retro-look was appealing. It is not overly expensive for a watch that you may wear daily for years. The case is gold-infused (if I understand it) which means that gold is heat vaporized and then pressurized into the metal of the casing itself. It ought to last a long time without showing wear-through. The presentation box is impressive. Is it worth the money? For appearance, yes; if you just want a time piece there are numerous less costly ones available. Be careful to realize that there are silver and bright-white watch faces; the differences aren't too clear from photographs. Note too that it may be sold with different available "crystals"; Look up the types available. I have a "mineral crystal" which is somewhat subject to scratching but has no reflection problems. ... show more

    • Classy Classic.......
There was a day - many years ago - when watchmaking was an art. It was an era when smaller was better - and state of the art was stylish but sensible. In my search for a demure, classic dress watch - I have looked at thousands of possibilities online that have all fallen short of the mark. The current trend seems to be big, large, presumptuous, gaudy, flashy - with a unsavory array of useless subdials, push buttons and adornments ........ all of which are just too hip-hop gansta' for my simple tastes. Literally, some of them look as large as nightstand alarm clocks - actually a bit clownish. The Hamilton Boulton really bucks today's convention and is a refreshing take on a Hamilton classic. Clean lines and a low profile keep it from hanging up your shirt sleeve. The lack of bells and whistles reflects a simple elegance of days long past. The watch is featherweight on the wrist - but a heavyweight in quality. An excellent, classic man's watch from the 1930's-1940's, before "someone" decided that a man's wrist watch should encompass most of his wrist, hand and require serious "weight lifting" to support! It is classic, simple, quietly elegant and can be worn for dress or every day. Hamilton has continued their classic "Boulton" with the upgrade of a state of the art Swiss Quartz movement. Worth the investment and should last a life time! A very good purchase!! ... show more
