Our city lost its only costume fabric store, so I have to buy everything for Halloween costumes online now. I end up using faux fur fairly often, and have quite a bit in my stash. This is pretty nice fur. It's on a knit fabric and has decent stretch, and the fur itself is long and fairly soft. I guess you'd say it has a coarser texture that can be styled with a brush, more like wolf fur or The Grinch, than finer faux rabbit fur used for something like the cuffs and hem of a Mrs. Claus outfit. So this is great fur for animal costumes. Or in my case, a Mothra costume. I paid $50 for 2 yards of black fur almost exactly like this earlier this year when our fabric store was closing, and that was heavily discounted, so $16-17 for a half yard is very reasonable. ... show more

This is a standard faux fur fabric, offering a soft texture that is not overly silky. It sheds slightly, but the backing is sufficiently flexible, making it suitable for my intended use.
