  • Great quality system and excellent customer support!
Material Type: Standard + Ground Enclosure Size: 3 Diffuser System
I shopped around for a pond compressor and diffusers for over a year. Time after time I kept coming back to this model. The reviews seemed to reflect a solid quality product but the thing that stood out the most seemed to be the support and communication from the seller. Each install is different and there really isn’t a manual for what to do step by step so having that customer service was important to me. Shipping: It arrived in just a few days via UPS. It did arrive in 2 separate shipments which threw me off but a message and quick response from the company let me know the second tracking number. (Amazon only knew about 1 box.) Everything was well crated and arrived in 2 large boxes. The only issues were one diffuser pvc connection came apart and I had to glue it back together. (Took 1 min to fix. No issue at all but wanted to put it as a point for the company so they can quality control.) Assembly: I plugged in the pump first to make sure everything ran. No issues. They even already attached the splitter valve to the pump. I just had to screw on the air filter. I then connected the short temperature hoses to the machine next and ran them out the bottom of the box. The 3 diffusers were easy to assemble. The trick I found was to connect the tubing to the diffuser and then roll it out in the yard to straighten the hose before attempting to put it in the water. Trying to uncoil it and get it to sink straight is a huge pain so the trick is go straight out from the pump and then once it’s at the spot you want trim the excess at the pump. I ran 3 separate lines. One for each diffuser. Each one got easier as I perfected the method. I had no issues with the tubing sinking or the connectors. I did buy a extra 100’ feet of tubing. The diffusers on the left and right are 150’ in length and the one in the center is 100’. The package comes with 3 individual 100’ lengths so I cut the extra 100’ I bought separately in half and added it to each section. (I did have to buy more hose clamps and connection pieces to do this as well.) When I lowered the diffusers to the bottom, (about 5-7’) I used a loop of parachute cord and tied it around a milk jug so if I had to pull it back up I had a buoy marker. I actually did go back and pulled one up to move it further one direction and didn’t have any issues. Operation: Make sure the splitter valves are all pointing down before turning on the pump. There is no timer on the pump or speed settings. It’s all on/off by plugging it in. The diffusers worked perfect and move quite a bit of water. I had plenty of bubbles on the surface with 3 diffusers and 400’ of tubing. Each are between 5-7’ deep. I did go with the standard compressor because our water is so shallow and was a little worried it wouldn’t be strong enough but it pumps out plenty of air. The ripples it creates go all the way to the shoreline which is about 100’ each direction. The pump is extremely quiet. We bought the kit with the additional ground case option and glad we did. It helps muffle and sound and holds the compressor perfectly inside. Be aware there are two plugs. One for the compressor. One for the internal cooling fan. Bonus thoughts: Figure out if you need additional tubing and buy it at the same time. (I used google earth to measure out the placement ahead of time.) You’ll also need extra connectors and tube clamps. I also used waterproof tape over the tube connections to make sure there would be no leaks. I also used a piece of drain pipe to protect the tubing that’s exposed on the shore. I know where it is but didn’t want to have someone accidentally cut it with a mower/weed whacker and I didn’t want to bury it. Review: So far I’m extremely happy with the shipping, product quality and communication. I’ll update if anything changes or I find new information worth sharing. ... show more

  • Pumps air, does it fairly quietly, and the mateials included are good quality.
Material Type: Standard System Size: 1 Diffuser System
This kit was nicely priced and has been working well for me for a few months now. It is pretty quiet, considering what I was expecting, and pumps a lot of air. The included aerator and hose were both nice quality. So why didn't I give more stars? Because these pumps are often being sold on a ruse. I was convinced they (I have two from different makers) would reduce and help to control my filamentous algae problem. They do nothing of the sort. In fact, this particular unit is surrounded by more algae, at greater depth, than is found anywhere else in my pond. However, I am still using it because many of the chemical controls used to fight algae tend to remove oxygen from the water, so I want pumps to keep the water healthy for fish and other animal life. The added oxygen also helps with decomposition of dead algae (but don't buy those jugs of helpful bacteria - there is ample evidence that they do nothing and may not contain any living bacteria at all). This unit claims to use less electricity than many others, and so far I feel it isn't eating too many watts. Be wary of claims made by manufacturers and sellers, but if you need a pump then this is a good choice. ... show more

  • Great customer service, Excellent investment!
We received this aerator system in Sept 2020, after it had been running for a few weeks I added the second head onto it to better distribute the air in the pond, one of the aeration heads was damaged. I contacted Half Off Ponds, spoke with Brandon and he provided excellent customer service, and helped resolve my issue immediately. We are very satisfied with this product, the pump works exactly as advertised. Half Off Ponds was helpful and attentive to the small issue that I experienced, We will purchase from them again. Excellent investment. ... show more

Material Type: Standard System Size: 1 Diffuser System
Quality pump has been in the pond 3 weeks no issue with the pump -- technical support was not much help with a issue I explain I was using it on a farm pond over a acre and he instructed me to add cold water and cycle the pump - that what he did with his koi pond -- not much help ---

  • Compressor quit after only being used a few months
The product worked well for a few months but already stopped working. The compressor was too expensive to only get one season out of it. Update: seller was very easy to work with and is replacing the damaged compressor.

  • Reliable and strong
Material Type: Standard System Size: 5 Diffuser System
Been running non stop for 5 months in all weather/temps F 90-20. Currently using this set up for 7 acres of ponds, about 20 feet deep. The large pump is connected to a 200 foot pipe that is connected to the 3 way splitter and each of those has another 100 foot pipe that goes 20 feet under water and there is still enough pressure. ... show more
