You should have this book if you are learning the bass.

Great Option for Learning Bass

I enjoy learning bass this way. There are few songs interspersed in the material, but it focuses on building techniques and learning notes. There are good resources for learning songs outside of the book. I’m making good progress using this book. If you practice and follow it diligently, then so will you!
