I bought this one a while back just to try it out, it’s very enjoyable. It was a little slow for me as an adult, so I gave it to my daughter, who is five, she loves it. She’s been super hard on it, and it holds up really well. I’ve replaced a couple little parts on it, but that’s only due to running into a curb at full speed or something like that. Outstanding value great little car. Not the fastest not the coolest but an awesome value! The car really holds up well considering the abuse it’s put through with my five-year-old.

I LOVE RC 4WD off road racing! I'm building quite a nice little garage of different buggies. This one by Haiboxing is a very good addition to my shop. (I now have FOUR from HBX.) This one is VERY well built with quality materials and construction. The body is very rugged, of a good sturdy and heavy weight resin material. The motor has a nice large heat sink, letting your run till you drain the battery without the fear of overheating. The spare battery is great. The steering servo is strong and responsive. The drive components are solid steel. The shocks are spring over oil capped pistons. The receiver / ESC is very reliable. All electronics are waterproofed. It's built for mud running and has no problem with puddles. I wouldn't recommend going into water above the axles. But, up to that depth is not a problem. You will love seeing it sling mud and water as you speed through the muck. I've flipped it, rolled it and crashed it a few times. It's TOUGH. The canopy got dinged up a little. The new canopy pins have nice little grips making them easier to work with. And, you get spares. The bonus running lights are a little tricky to install. But, work just great and the new square shape is really cool. The controller is much improved and better than with a lot of others at this price point with great range and some fine tuning options. Much better than with previous Haiboxing releases. Overall, this Haiboxing (HBX) Race Truck off road racer has a lot of upgrades from earlier releases that make it much better and is just great fun. Five fantastic offroad stars.

I recently purchased the HAIBOXING 16889 RC truck, and it’s been quite a treat! One of the standout features has to be that it comes with two batteries, ensuring prolonged bashing sessions - a clear advantage for those of us who don’t want the fun to end too soon. However, a slight hiccup was the included charger. Unfortunately, it didn’t work straight out of the box, but I was fortunate enough to have a compatible charger on hand to juice up the provided batteries. The true testament to its durability? The truck’s resilience against my 7-year-old’s less-than-perfect driving skills. It’s withstood every bump, crash, and tumble thrown its way. All in all, the HAIBOXING 16889 offers excellent value for the money, giving you a robust and entertaining RC experience. It’s undoubtedly a good bang for the buck!

So.. this 16889 truck from HBX makes 8 total HAIBOXING RC vehicles in my garage. There is a vertitable sea of different RC cars in this range, but somehow most of them fall short of the mark. To me HBX set the bar for entry level hobby grade RC. The build quality of the 16889 is amazing. Soft and resilient polymer add the toughness and smart engineering add the speed! As with most HBX vehicles under $100, this one uses a brushed 390 size motor and combo ESC/receiver. The gearing is set to BLAST as this truck takes off like a bat outta you-know-where! Impressive throttle response and pretty good range to go along with it. The total kit is ready to run, just add 2 AA batteries to the transmitter, charge up the 2, that's right, the kit included (2) 7.4v lipo batteries with industry standard deans connectors!! This makes future battery purchases easy peasy. Fully charged, I'm getting around 13 minutes drive time which ain't bad, especially considering the kit comes with 2 battery packs! The kit comes perfectly packaged in a sturdy box with the truck, 2 1000mah 7.4v lipos, transmitter (AA batteries NOT included), USB to balance plug charger cable, LED plug n play light harness, 4 spare heavy duty body clips, decal sheet, multi language instructions, detailed parts list and warranty card. Complete RTR! On pavement the medium compound of the tires are a bit "greasy" but in the dirt, they seem to hook up pretty well. I think HBX should have stuck to the softer compound, foam filled tires of their other vehicles, but this is an easy enough fix..just a minor gripe. Plenty of power make this a great RC truck for adults. The adjustable speed trim feature on the transmitter make this a great first RC for a child or adult to get going in the hobby as well! There a plenty of HBX manufactured upgrades available for the 16889..plenty of room to upgrade and grow with this truck. HBX.. You have another WINNER! Get yourselves one before they raise the price!

I was looking for RC cars at my local RC hobby shop and the employees seamed a little snobby in letting me know that if I wanted a good “beginner” or “starter” RC car it needed to cost at least two bills… nope! So why is this better than the toy store? It’s 10x FASTER than any of those cars and can take a bigger beating too! There are plenty of extra parts on Amazon if one part breaks. Yes this does cost more than the toy store cars, but also costs less than a car at your local hobby shop! Start with this, if you love it, then good news, the hobby store cars are even better and faster!

Bought this for 9 year old son birthday and what a surprise to both of us!! This thing is awesome great battery life awesome performance. Love that replacement parts are available. Another great feature you can control the max speed from a dial on remote.
