I got these to replace some speakers in a set of bookshelf speakers. I modified the boxes to be air tight. Sealed it up completely. Installed the crossover on the back and wow. I was amazed at the sound quality. They may be for a car but these jam great in the pool house.

The value here is absurd. The speaker set appears to be made of quality components and construction techniques. Upon listening, they sound quite good. Don't get me wrong, they aren't Hertz, Focal, etc but definitely compete with the low and midrange market offerings. As an example, they are quite an upgrade from the Rockford Prime 6x8's that came in my F150 when paired with the sane Pioneer HU and JL 100w per channel Amp. I cannot speak to longevity and have some concern about some venting techniques employed and the expected water exposure of in door mounting. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Yes these are great for vehicles but the aesthetics are wasted hidden away behind grills and covers. They sound awesome at 150w RMS NOT the 300w RMS that's suggested. Pair these with a good amplifier mated to a good DSP or EQ and people will ask what type of speakers they are! I highly recommend them for portable boomboxes as well not just because of the sound but because of the looks as well! Either way you won't be disappointed as long as you're sending them a decent amount of power and a clear signal. Enjoy this as it looks just as good as they sound! ... show more
