  • Easy to store and easy to transport!
Lens Color: Blue
I have been looking for an inflatable kayak for quite some time and finally bit the bullet and purchased this. After looking at several other products, I decided to purchase this particular item. First off, brand is GoPlus rather than Gymax. This was a nice surprise for me since I'm more familiar with the GoPlus brand than Gymax. Pros: 1. Portable. The kayak is made of durable material and weighs about 40lbs which may seem heavy for some. The plastic kayaks are similar in weight but do seem heavier especially if they take in water that needs to be drained. The benefit of having an inflatable kayak is the ability to deflate and pack it into t smaller space like the trunk of a car. This eliminates the need for truck or roof rack to transport the kayak. Deflation is simple and easy with the valve. 2. Important features. When buying inflatable water equipment such as kayak or raft or paddleboard, it's important to have carrying handles. This feature was not as important for paddleboard since they can be carried by one person. However, it's a little more difficult to do so with a kayak since it's larger in size. AVOID dragging your inflatable equipment across surfaces since rocks and sand can damage and degrade the material. The handles make it easy for two people to carry or if you are alone, like myself, this can be achieved with carrying the kayak upside down overhead. The drain hole is located in an easy-to-access area to drain excess water form inside kayak before picking it up. It is located below the level of the rest of the kayak to ensure maximum drainage. This is also useful for rinsing the kayak after use. 3. Carry case. This is VERY important and makes it easy to keep all the equipment together including the paddles which can be taken apart. This ensures that everything is kept together and ready to go when needed. Cons: 1. The pumping. As with all inflatable equipment, the manual pumping is painful. For this kayak, there are 3 separate chambers to inflate. Do yourself a favor and get a pump that can be plugged into the car or a power generator that can store enough juice to run the pump. Save the arm workout for after you get into the water. 2. The instructions were not great. Luckily, it's an inflatable kayak so the equipment was pretty straightforward. Overall, great purchase at this price. We live near the ocean with a small residential bay area for kayaking and paddleboarding. It's also great for the kids to play with in the pool. ... show more

  • This inflatable kayak is great
Lens Color: Red
The workmanship of this inflatable kayak is very beautiful, no air leakage phenomenon, very safe. And the price is much cheaper than the physical store, I think it is worth recommending.

  • I took a chance. This thing seems pretty legit for the price.
Lens Color: Red
This is just a first impression review as I won't be taking it onto the water till early next month. This kayak is way better built than I thought it would be. The material seems tough and all the hardware is good quality. The seats are proper ones as well, not the inflatable kind you get with most inexpensive kayaks. The paddles are nothing special but definitely not crap. I think they'll do fine. The pump that it came with is adequate but basic. It inflated both chambers and the floor in minutes. I can't wait to take it out on the water! ... show more

  • Does the job!
Lens Color: Blue
I am extremely happy with this kayak! I have tried it in Washington Lake twice this month. I feel safe with my kiddos going with me on adventures. Unbelievably it folded up easily and packed right back in the backpack bag with no real difficulty!!! That NEVER happens!

  • Impressive craft, seats not so much, Brand is GoPlus not Gymax
Lens Color: Blue
Not sure what to think of this....ad description says brand is Gymax and shipped by Gymax. Actually, brand is GoPlus and was shipped by them from California, not Gymax location. Take note, may be a red flag. I'm 70 and have boated and canoed for decades. I decided to try Kayaking, and am short on storage space so opted for an inflatable. I did some research, and without spending $1000+ this seemed like the one. I'm impressed with the craft. Very heavy duty, yet light; stable and spacious for a kayak. I took it out for my first paddle this morning on a local river. Instructions were VERY POOR and brief. Repair kit also has NO instructions and no glue. As mentioned, it is very stable and paddles well for an inflatable as they have a heavier drag on the water, and performance (speed) in that regard is not as good as a solid craft. But that is true of all inflatables. It is a tradeoff I was aware of and was willing to make. It comes with two skegs or "fins" as they are sometimes called, one front and one rear. I have never seen a watercraft with two skegs before, so I decided to try them. Their purpose is to keep the boat tracking straighter. I soon realized why I had never seen a boat with a front and rear skeg before. I paddled over a barely submerged log and got stuck there. Since I was alone, most of weight was toward the rear. So, I wasn't going to paddle over the log as the rear skeg would get caught. I tried paddling backward, but then the front skeg got caught. Since it curves backward, it acted like a fishhook and snagged that log so I thought I was never going to get off it. Thankfully the current was not very strong and the boat is very stable, so after about 15 minutes of furiously paddling and some scary positions I finally freed myself. My recommendation? THROW THAT FRONT SKEG AWAY AND NEVER USE IT. That is a poor design. Getting in the kayak was not a problem, although with the skegs in place I had to wade in to deeper water and so got wetter than I needed to. Next time I go out I will not install either of the skegs and see how it tracks. Getting out was much harder, as I am getting older and somewhat stiff, and while sitting IN the boat and not ON it, throwing my leg over the side while trying to stand up proved difficult. Again, the skegs kept me in deeper water and made it more difficult than it needed to be. The seats: They are not tall enough to give proper support to my back. Plus, the straps that keep the back rigid would slip due to a cheap strap buckle. By the time I got back to the landing I looked like I was sitting in a recliner, and it was very uncomfortable. Summary: I like the kayak and will keep it, I have ordered better seats with thick bottoms to raise me up a bit, and the skegs--at least one of them--will stay at home. Seriously, do yourself a favor and don't install the front fin (skeg) or you could find your self in a very unwelcome situation. I give it three stars and look to getting back on the water. ... show more
