  • Easy to store and easy to transport!
Lens Color: Blue
I have been looking for an inflatable kayak for quite some time and finally bit the bullet and purchased this. After looking at several other products, I decided to purchase this particular item. First off, brand is GoPlus rather than Gymax. This was a nice surprise for me since I'm more familiar with the GoPlus brand than Gymax. Pros: 1. Portable. The kayak is made of durable material and weighs about 40lbs which may seem heavy for some. The plastic kayaks are similar in weight but do seem heavier especially if they take in water that needs to be drained. The benefit of having an inflatable kayak is the ability to deflate and pack it into t smaller space like the trunk of a car. This eliminates the need for truck or roof rack to transport the kayak. Deflation is simple and easy with the valve. 2. Important features. When buying inflatable water equipment such as kayak or raft or paddleboard, it's important to have carrying handles. This feature was not as important for paddleboard since they can be carried by one person. However, it's a little more difficult to do so with a kayak since it's larger in size. AVOID dragging your inflatable equipment across surfaces since rocks and sand can damage and degrade the material. The handles make it easy for two people to carry or if you are alone, like myself, this can be achieved with carrying the kayak upside down overhead. The drain hole is located in an easy-to-access area to drain excess water form inside kayak before picking it up. It is located below the level of the rest of the kayak to ensure maximum drainage. This is also useful for rinsing the kayak after use. 3. Carry case. This is VERY important and makes it easy to keep all the equipment together including the paddles which can be taken apart. This ensures that everything is kept together and ready to go when needed. Cons: 1. The pumping. As with all inflatable equipment, the manual pumping is painful. For this kayak, there are 3 separate chambers to inflate. Do yourself a favor and get a pump that can be plugged into the car or a power generator that can store enough juice to run the pump. Save the arm workout for after you get into the water. 2. The instructions were not great. Luckily, it's an inflatable kayak so the equipment was pretty straightforward. Overall, great purchase at this price. We live near the ocean with a small residential bay area for kayaking and paddleboarding. It's also great for the kids to play with in the pool. ... show more

  • Awesome kayak!
Lens Color: Blue
I’m so happy with this kayak. It’s definitely on the long side so my six year old son can fit in there with me and my husband. It’s quite sturdy and the quality is great. My husband was able to set it up fairly easily with our electric pump at home. The seats also feel very comfortable. I think for the price, it’s an amazing purchase. ... show more

  • No Roof Rack, No Problem — This Kayak Made Me a Lake Person
Lens Color: Blue
The media could not be loaded. I used to be the person watching other people glide along the lake thinking, “That looks amazing, but there’s no way I’m hauling a kayak on top of my car.” My last experience with one was years ago at a rental place, and while I loved being on the water, dragging a huge plastic beast across gravel was enough to make me swear off buying my own. This inflatable one totally changed that. It fits in the trunk of my car. I mean, not just the kayak—everything. The seats, paddles, pump, fins, even a little repair kit (which thankfully I haven’t needed yet). It’s just over 30 pounds, so I can carry it myself without feeling like I’m training for a strongman competition. Setup was shockingly quick. I thought I’d need an hour and a YouTube tutorial, but with the hand pump and the three separate air chambers, it was fully inflated in maybe 10 minutes while my partner dealt with snacks. The material actually feels tough, not like a pool float. We’ve taken it over some shallow rocky areas and had zero issues. Comfort-wise, this thing’s got it figured out. I’m 5’10”, my partner’s 6’2”, and we both had room without feeling crammed together. The footrests adjust, the seats have back support, and they’re actually cushioned—not those sad little strap-on pads I’ve seen in other inflatables. There are bungee cords up front and little zipper bags behind the seats, which ended up being surprisingly handy for water bottles, sunscreen, and a very regrettable turkey sandwich. Bonus: the paddles break into sections and the whole setup goes right back into the included carry bag without needing to wrestle it like a sleeping bag that’s two sizes too small. This is our third trip out with it, and we’ve already started planning a weekend getaway just to bring the kayak along. We even had someone on shore ask what brand it was so they could look it up. I would’ve never thought of myself as a kayak person, but now I’m the one gliding across the lake, waving at the folks stuck on shore. ... show more

  • Good size, family fun kayak
Lens Color: Blue
I just tried the kayak with my wife and daughter yesterday, it was pretty cool to pedal down the river. Although it is little hard to pedal at the beginning because we forgot to put both fins on. After realizing the fins, it was easy to maneuvering the kayak. We had a great time, the kayak can easily fit me, my wife and daughter with total less than 300 lbs weight. The kayak has 2 chambers on the both sides and 1 in the middle that can take it out. I think it is reasonable price for this size of kayak. My daughter was really having fun with it, and ask me to go next week again. I will choose a reservoir instead of high current river after rain. ... show more
