    • Nothing else comes close to the same quality and value at this price range.
It came in a nice zip-up hardback case with a pleasing logo on the front. The only cheap part is the plastic inside, but it can be discarded. The light is of decent size and very bright. Solid construction. Almost blinding to look at directly at full brightness. The colors can be cycled almost seamlessly although there are some gaps between the furthest variation between the led light colors but very little is missing. I haven't tried the app control but assume it works well. If it doesn't then I'll follow this up with an addendum. Either way its 5 stars for the sheer value. The only part that feels cheap is the battery charger, but I don't see how they could have afforded to cram a better one in at this price range. It works just fine, its just plastic-y. Buy this light to get started, and if you start to make more complicated videos or photos or need more variety then buy one of the name brand $110-180 ones. The benefit of the higher dollar ones that have app control is that they can all be synced. Pro-tip: Click in the right dial to activate RGB.     • GVM Easily Application is sketchy
I love the light and was excited to be able to control it from a phone application but when registering for the app, it asks to have full access to your file/photos/media/and contacts! I don't know why the heck a lighting app would need access to all of that when I just need it to connect to the product as a remote control. It seems sketchy! Not just that, I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app several times to try to bypass the prior wifi registration and haven't been able to so the app cannot locate the light. Also! A few times when opening the app it's entirely in Chinese, or Japanese, I can't tell, it's a different language period, why can't I chose language options? Anyways, the app didn't work on my phone so I'll just have to go manual. The company needs to update their application. ... show more

I love the portability of this device. It comes with a battery pack (seems to be 2 of the 18650 li-ions in that pack) which hold the charge for good awhile. The app and functionality is just as expected. Yes you can use the device w/o the app by clicking on the right rotary button to change to a different color function. I thought the app was a must until I figured that out. I also appreciate the presentation with the velvet satchel, white difusser, the battery pack & charger plus the build quality itself. Ther, a poetic review! If you don't need the remote control of the app this is as good as the atmos or other aluminum housed lights for 40% the cost. But the app is just flat unreliable and frustrating.

The extra features are great I love effects like police car and candle light and love that you have so much RGB control plus control over warmth. I’m giving it 4 stars because the app doesn’t work it never connects but the light itself is great and you can control it without the useless app

    • Good light, but the battery doesn't fit.
Very nice brightness for the price and size. I didn't have any trouble with the app, unlike some reviewers. My major issue is the battery seems to be the wrong size for the light. It rests and charges on the charger, but it doesn't fit properly into the light. I have to carefully position it so it lines up and actually turns on, but it will fall out with even the lightest tap. ... show more
