This is some of the best olive oil I’ve ordered to my home! Some people are saying that it tastes “rancid” or that it tastes “old.” Actually, it’s to the contrary— it literally tastes like olives and has a good strong flavor. The olive oil we are used to has already lost its flavor by the time we purchase and consume it. When my wife and I visited Italy two years ago, we were surprised at how strong the olive oil was, and to be honest, a bit put off by it. But it was explained to us that this was the freshest version and that unlike wine that gets better and more complex with age, olive oil does the exact opposite. Much of the oil we’re used to consuming has an aromatic smell, but has zero flavor to the tongue. I kept eating it until my brain (and tongue) finally began to “understand” it, and now I don’t want anything less! Listen to me— this is an EXCELLENT product. I’m dipping bread in it as we speak! It’s like eating olives right from the tree.

OK, just a warning. If you’re expecting this olive oil to taste like any other olive oil that you’ve bought you’re gonna be really shocked. I was upset when I first got it because it was just so bitter and strong tasting. I couldn’t imagine ever getting used to it. But I had three bottles and I didn’t wanna throw them out. So I started mixing it with some squeeze herbs from the produce department. And a little bit of balsamic vinegar and now I’m hooked. I use it as a dip. It really does taste like the liquid from a bottle of green olives And not the mild stuff that you’re used to. But now I love it so what can I say.

I grew up in a Greek household. I have always had real EVO in my diet every day since I was born. I have tried so many varieties, and this EVO is the most disgusting thing I have every had. It does NOT taste like EVO should. Not even close. It is flat out GROSS. Do you know when you go to a dairy farm or drive by one, and there is that thick scent of manure, urine and half digested hay and field grass in the air? And you know how that intense smell is so powerful that you can actually taste it a little? When I tasted this EVO it tasted like that but on 4K TV in my mouth. Its so gross. It made me gag and the after taste lingered in my stomach for hours. It made me burp and it tasted and smelled like it, making me relive the awful taste over and over. And as another reviewer wrote, it definitely has a chemical scent and taste. And when you factor in cost, yes its super expensive and the bottle was much smaller than I would have expected for the price. Don't waist you money on this. Purchase another high polyphenol EVO. I have tried many of the others on Amazon, and they were all fine. They tasted like EVO should, unlike this stuff. Don't buy this stuff, much better tasting high polyphenol EVO out there.

Item is great, but this isn't cooking olive oil. Understand what you are ordering. Product great, delivery is a mystery. Second time order. It was out for delivery. Set to arrive between 2pm and 6pm. Get notice - Package Delayed in Transit. Check Detailed tracking, same statement. Item was out for deliver several hours (dep 10:57a and suddenly at 330p it was delayed. OK. Vehicle/driver problem assume it will be fixed and delivery will occur later. The delivery notice actually states, "On the way, but running late." Wait, keep checking by door and delivery status. Finally give up a 5p the NEXT day and cancel. Will wait a day and reorder. I suspect the delivery vehicle got to my stop and the driver couldn't find the item on the truck. OK, it can happen. Just tell me that!!!

What can I say?? Dr. Gundry's olive oil lives up to its name, for sure!!! It has a unique smell and a unique taste that beats any other brand that I have ever tried!! It is somewhat more expensive, but it is definitely worth the price!! I go through it too fast because I only use this as a salad dressing. I don't use store bought salad dressing anymore because of all the additives in them. There is one more olive oil that I purchased from Amazon. It is alot less expensive and it is ok, but it is not near the quality of Dr. Gundry's olive oil!!! I would give it 10 stars if I could!! Please give it a try. You can go to Dr. Steven Gundry's website and order there maybe a few dollars cheaper. I have ordered it from Amazon several times so I could get it quicker but his website is a little cheaper. I just can't do without it!!!!!
