  • Pretty nice stand with sucky instructions!
I just built the stand and it looks the part for a safe secure hunt 300 or so feet up a tree! Ok, 15 or 20, but the shooting rail and arm rests add a level of security versus the bicycle seat and stirrup arrangement I typically see with other lock-ons. The directions were rather inadequate. I couldn't see the directions without an electron microscope. I am 46 so my eyes are going away for close and small! To be honest, the construction is so simple that merely looking at a picture gives enough insight on assembly. It's Chinese, but what isn't. I am sure our eggs and milk are Chinese too, but if you want more expensive, it is out there, but a deer doesn't discriminate if your tree stand is one nationality or another. Would I buy another one? Hell yea, for the price and comfort factor, I am all in! Something will definitely die from this stand! Hopefully not me climbing up to it:-) Additional information after installing 20 feet up a tree (actually a little lower so I can step over from the stick ladder). This stand is rather heavy to drag up via a pull rope. The installer must be of significant upper body strength which I have abundantly since I am a Neanderthal! I bought a 20 foot stick ladder that I installed before I bothered with the stand. I HIGHLY recommend a climbing harness and strap such as used by a power lineman. Without that, you will undoubtedly fall to great harm to your body! I believe this stand will hold up so there are no regrets!! ... show more

  • Function
Easy to assemble if you breed and follow directions the hardest thing is getting it up the ladder and mounting it on the tree once it’s up there it is up there it’s very sturdy. I’m Killed a deer out of it already. I like it. You can stretch out your feet very comfortably.

  • Good medium duty stand - 6 month review
I had a need for two stands this year since my son was going out for the first time. Therefore, I needed to watch the cost. This stand seemed to have the features I was looking for - larger foot platform, safety bar, and some padding. I put the stands up in September and they stayed up until early February. After using them, I can make these observations: - Installed easily with the help of my son since the units are made of steel not aluminum. - Sturdy build, no cracks in welds or wiring, padding retained integrity - Paint finish is a powder coated acrylic or epoxy and therefore does not protect against all corrosion over time. There were several places that showed some surface rust in joints which is to be expected with a low quality, non-polyurethane coating. - Seat padding worked really well since it is configured as a sling/hammock set up. you will need to fool with the strap catch as it can slip slowly if not threaded thru correctly. - Padding often had snow or rain on it but held up well and dried out without retaining excessive water. A tip is to unhook the seat padding and flip it up vertical when you leave to keep snow from piling on it. Overall, I was pleased with the purchase of these stands. The only thing I would have done different would be to hit all the steel with a zinc rich primer and topcoat with a flat black/green polyurethane coating right from the start before the first use to avoid long term corrosion. ... show more

  • Great stand for the price.
Overall very pleased. I read some reviews before buying this so I knew what I was getting. All the parts came and fit together perfectly. Directions weren't the best but if you have some common sense it is very easy to put together. Took about 20 minutes and they send it to you with about 50% of it put together already. I ordered it on Wednesday and was told it would be at my house 6-9 days later. I was very happy when it showed up two days after ordering it. The positives, Comfortable, foot rest, big platform, very sturdy, and you cant beat the price. The negative It could have better straps (no biggie, I knew this before buying it and had planned on using ones I already had), could have rust proof paint (again no biggie I knew this before buying it and coated it to prevent rust) last negative is the weight. It is not too heavy but not the lightest. I'am 29 and in average shape and have no problem hauling it around and putting it up in a tree. Looking forward to getting a few deer with it this year. I would recommend this product and planning on buying a few more. Thanks again Guide Gear. ... show more

  • Super Comfortable
Awesome tree stand... Especially for Guide Gear, who's products can be "iffy" at times. The platform is pretty good sized- great for bowhunting which is mostly what I use it for. I would like to use it for gun hunting more as well, but it would need a shooting rail attachment. The only problem I have found is that the adjustment straps under the seat like to slide out... especially when there is no weight on it. Almost every morning that I came to the stand, the seat was completely undone and just hanging there in the wind, but it was a quick fix- just slide the strap back through and tighten it to where you want it. I just don't like doing more than I have to on a treestand when I should be focusing on the hunt and being stealthy. Also, the backrest and the bungee for it are really cheap, but for the price it's expected I guess. Even so, it is probably my favorite stand, and is very comfortable. I have even turned myself sideways in the seat and draped my legs over the armrest, and my back against the other and have taken a nap in it.. And im a regula sized guy at 5'9 and 185. Probably gonna buy another one for next season. ... show more

  • No complaints!
Can't beat it for the price! It went together easily and seems well built. Was nervous about paying so little for something I'm putting my safety in the hands of, but that went away once I got it mounted. I'm 6' 200lbs and it holds me with no problem. The seat is fairly comfortable, not the best on the market, but definitely not the worst. Should have no problem spending a full day in it. The platform has enough room to stretch out a bit and stand/move around to stretch your legs or get into position for a shot. The seat will also fold up out of the way (as seen in the pic). I inspected the straps and they seem ok. I added a couple though just for added safety and because I have trust issues haha. It also came with a safety harness, which I did not expect. It's not the greatest but will suffice as a backup. ... show more
