  • Easy to hang
Good price for a decent stand. It gets the job done . Assembly was about average for these stands, they all take some patience. As comfortable as you can be in this type stand. Lastly, safety is up to the user.

  • Good for the price.
Only one review when I purchased mine, hope this helps someone make a decision if this is the right stand for you or not, but I wanted to set it up before I reviewed. Highlights, good for the price and probably one of the lightest to carry. The one I received was branded Primal Outdoors and it’s made in china, as I expected. Instructions to assemble were good and the hardware was labeled in a blister pack. There are a LOT of straps, buckles and ratchet straps, these were not labeled. You can assume what goes together, but I made some wrong assumptions and had to back track. If they were labeled and/or individually packaged and labeled it would save some time. I understand the need for the straps and the methodology, if you are leaning this against a tree in a field with nothing around. In the real world where I hunt with ground cover, vines, and crooked trees some straps get in the way. I need a stand I can carry in the woods assemble and put up by myself, Again, I understand why the instructions call for three people to put this up in our litigious society. With only one ladder section attached I can easily lift and lean it against a tree by myself, and I’m 62 years old. Now before the Fudds and Keyboard Commandos come out to chaste me, I was able to convince my wife I wasn’t going to leave her in the woods and she came out to help me and be a spotter. It did cost me some time, I read the instructions numerous times and watched the videos more than once, my wife having done none of that was a wealth of suggestions. Grip jaws, good idea in theory, more difficult to deploy than I had hoped. I wanted to make sure they were as wide as they would go before lifting and they somehow swung all the way back and pulling on the strap didn’t make them close around the tree trunk. I had to lower the stand back to the ground, straighten them out and try again. Make sure to bring sockets, wrenches, or pliers with you to help straighten the jaw straps it’ll go faster. Once I deployed the jaws correctly and pulled the strap to tighten them they did grip the tree trunk but not as tightly as I’d like. I’m going to look into some kind of “bumper” to keep the grips from swinging all the way back under the seat. Since I was only able to use one ladder section because the tree trunk was not straight before it forked the horizontal stabilizer was too long, even completely closed to fit between the ladder and the tree. I finally installed it at an angle to an adjacent tree and installed the grip strap in a way that stabilized the ladder and tightened the grip jaws and I now felt it was safe to climb. The ratchet strap at the top is the real hero and makes the whole stand more secure. Because I live in Florida and the whole state is “wetlands”, I used a 1X2 and drilled a couple of holes half way through to set the legs of the ladder in. This allows for a firmer foundation for the ladder, distributes the weight and the bottom of the legs don’t fill with dirt. I know something at this price point is not going to have the most durable finish, so I’ve already sprayed the inside of each vertical tube of the ladder sections with some paint to hopefully ward off a little of the rust. As spots appear where the coating wears or rust, I’ll spray each with a little paint. Preventative maintenance goes a long way. The seat material is okay. I wrapped it with plastic wrap to protect it from the weather a little more. After this season I MAY replace it with a more firm seat, while adding weight, I think it’ll also make the whole stand more stable at the top. I’m pleased with my purchase, after sitting in it for 6+ hours I may not feel the same but only time will tell. I hope my long review was of some help. ... show more

  • securing it is a bit odd at first
Once you figure out the strapping/securing it pretty good. I wish the seat and foot area were bigger but this stand is for economy so its a fair deal for sure. Im going to get a few more now that I tried it. Perfect solo scout type hunting platform.
