Features

  • Imported
  • Essential protection for your blades; Fits most types of hockey and figure skate blades; Spring-loaded design makes them easy to put on and take off; Guards can be cut to fit on shorter blades; Also available in color-changing and scented styles!
  • You will receive one pair of hard plastic skate guards - essential equipment to protect your blades when walking off the ice
  • Top Notch deisgn is easier to cut to size. Assembled guards are 12.5 inches long end to end, and can be cut to any length down to 6 inches (detailed cutting instructions included). If your blades are longer than 12 inches, you will either have a larger gap between guard pieces or you can get a second pair and cut them to make 3-piece guards. Blades shorter than 6 inches will likely not work with these guards.
  • Springs make it easy to stretch the guards over your blades to put them on and take them off, and also hold the guards in place while you walk.

Description

Skate guards are essential equipment for protecting your blades while walking off the ice, and the Top Notch guards from Guardog are also really fun! Choose your favorite color and style - glittery Glitz, pearlescent Pearlz, almost translucent Gelz, color-changing Chameleonz, or classic solid colors. For even more fun, see the listings for the scented Mintz, Swirlz, or Cotton Candyz versions or the Chameleonz version that changes color when it gets cold! The guards are made to fit most figure skate blades and some hockey blades anywhere from 6 inches to 10+ inches long (the upper limit varies by shape and type of blade). Simply use the included sizing chart to mark and cut the guards as short as you need them to leave a small gap between the two pieces of the guard. The included springs hold the guards securely in place while you walk, and make it easy to put them on and take them off quickly. Sold in pairs. Made in Canada.

  • Nice skate guards!!
Color: Chameleonz - Blue To Purple
Where do I start this review?? I absolutely love these skate guards! They are really pretty and they color change!!! When I’m in for my ice session, my skate guards turn purple from the coldness of the rink which is so cool. I’m 16 and I’ve skated since I was 3.5 years old, and these are probably the nicest guards I’ve ever had appearance and durability wise. My skate blades are around 9 inches long, and all I had to do is cut down one piece from each side. The guards are also really easy to assemble which Is a good plus. The only bad thing that I have on these guards is that there’s a big noticeable blue blotch of what looks like dye on the side of one of my guards, but all that matters is that the guards do their job so I don’t really mind it. I definitely recommend this purchase, and I will buy another set of guards once these wear down. ... show more

  • Not universal! Too small even for women's size 8 skates!
These guards are NOT universal. I wear size 8 women's Jacksons and these are just slightly too small. So if you wear that size or larger, don't buy these. However, I'm sure they're fine for smaller skates.

  • A fun twist on your standard skate guards
Color: Chameleonz: Blue to Green
These are your standard two-piece, nothing too fancy about them skate guards that I have been using in various colors since I began in the sport of figure skating in the mid 1990's. I enjoyed the color change feature of these guards - although occasionally I forget that they will be a different color after a few sessions than they were when I first put them on the boards each day! They are fairly easy to cut and assemble once you are used to the process of doing so (I recommend a sharp, heavy knife to cut them to size, and to have the end of the springs that the screws go through facing to be as close to the guard as possible), and they have held up quite well so far. If you are an ice dancer with dance blades on your skate, please be advised that you will need to cut one side of these guards down to match the shorter end in order to use them with your skates - otherwise the long side will hit the heel of your boot and not stay put or overhang the toe and make it more difficult to walk in the guards. Synchro skaters with synchro blades would also have this issue - anything with that short heel means that these guards will require a little bit of (fairly quick and easy with a sharp knife) modification. While the new Rockerz guards are very popular, these have worked best for me with ice dance blades and I will continue to use them for many years to come! ... show more

  • So far, so good!
Color: Glitz: Purple
I purchased two pair of these, one for my daughter's skates and one for mine. For my daughter's, they were very easy to cut to size, using a large kitchen knife. She wears a size 1 skate and I took about an inch off both halves of the guard, leaving just a hair of space between them. These will likely fit her next skates as she sizes up. I wear a size 9 skate and these are a bit too short for my blades. There's about an inch of space in between the guards. I'm not too worried about it, I only skate for recreation a few times a year, and they are still easy enough to get on my blades. ... show more

  • The best/ great quality!
The media could not be loaded. Honestly the prettiest hard guard I’ve ever owned! Super easy to assemble. I just watched a YouTube video to get a sense of direction on how to put it together but love them and they smell like a dream! It took me about 5 mins to put together only because I had to cut them down to fit my blade but worth the money and the quality is wonderful and very study compared to the other ones I have. Will be buying multiple colors. I posted it to my TIkTok If you want to see how I assembled them together! Tiktok: VictoriaaNataa ... show more

  • Excellent quality, perfect fit right out of the box
Color: Chameleonz: Blue to Green
tldr: 10/10 would recommend, sturdy material means cold doesn't permeate well enough to get them to change colors 100%, still love them Came on time, well packaged. The guards come w instructions for set up (but you can always just watch a youtube video for how to set them up) and didn't even have to cut them, they were just the right size. They look and feel of very good and sturdy quality. So far so good. Will update. Update: Ok, so the thing about these guards is- they're very sturdy and they're very good. The reason why they don't change colors as easy in the rink as they do in the freezer is because they are made of a thick and sturdy material. They will twinge with color if you leave them on the edge of the rink and the conditions are right, but they won't change completely unless they are left directly on ice for a sufficient amount of time to allow the cold to permeate the guard. I love these precisely because they're sturdy and I don't care that they don't change colors 100%, I would rather have that over cheap-fall-apart guards, so I am happy with my purchase. ... show more

  • Great value, durable
Color: Solidz: Black
These have been great and we no longer have skate guards falling off of our skates. I love that these stay on and are so quick and easy to put on and take off. They've held up well so far.

  • They keep your skate bag smelling so nice!
Color: SWIRLZ - Tutti Fruti
I had no idea these were scented when purchasing, I just knew my 8 yo would love the swirled colors... but the smell is very nice (strawberry) and keeps the inside of the bag smelling GREAT! We unzip it and it smells like juicy gum, when all her friends' bags smell like.... feet.
