  • You will receive one pair of hard plastic skate guards - essential equipment to protect your blades when walking off the ice. They come as four pieces, with springs and phillips-head screws included for easy assembly.

  • Top Notch deisgn is easier to cut to size. Assembled guards are 12.5 inches long end to end, and can be cut to any length down to 6 inches (detailed cutting instructions included). If your blades are longer than 10 or 11 inches, you will either have a larger gap between guard pieces or you can get a second pair and cut them to make 3-piece guards. Blades shorter than 6 inches will likely not work with these guards.
  • Springs make it easy to stretch the guards over your blades to put them on and take them off, and also hold the guards in place while you walk.

Description

Skate guards are essential equipment for protecting your blades while walking off the ice, and the Top Notch guards from Guardog are also really fun! Choose your favorite color and style - glittery Glitz, pearlescent Pearlz, almost translucent Gelz, color-changing Chameleonz, or classic solid colors. For even more fun, see the listings for the scented Mintz, Swirlz, or Cotton Candyz versions or the Chameleonz version that changes color when it gets cold! The guards are made to fit most figure skate blades and some hockey blades anywhere from 6 inches to 10+ inches long (the upper limit varies by shape and type of blade). Simply use the included sizing chart to mark and cut the guards as short as you need them to leave a small gap between the two pieces of the guard. The included springs hold the guards securely in place while you walk, and make it easy to put them on and take them off quickly. Sold in pairs. Made in Canada.

Figure skates are new to us. Our kiddo has been skating for the last 4 years but he always used hockey skates. He is to the point where once he passes his current level he will be doing figure skating moves. So we just got figure skates. We needed blade guards and after hanging around the arena these last couple years we’ve noticed the majority of the club skaters used these slim slick guards. There could be more solid color options or options without glitter. The instructions could be better and honestly I googled for installation videos and there’s not any good one online. So I just used common sense to do it. Hopefully it’s the right way- but they seem sturdy. We did not need to trim/cut them at all. For comparison his figure skates are size 6 men.     • Very cool guards but difficult to cut to size

My daughter really loves these guards! I think they smell like cupcake or birthday cake which was pretty cool. I've never assembled skate guards before and didn't realize I needed a saw to cut them. I tried several kitchen knives before going into the garage and grabbing my husbands saw. I was finally able to get them cut down to her skate size and after that the assembly wasn't too bad with the springs and screws. ... show more

Very easy to assemble and its sturdier than my other skate's guard. I wear a size 6.5 hockey skates and no trimming or cutting is required. Fits like a glove and the quality of the product is superb!

I love these so much!! I’m a size 7 1/2 and these fit my blades great. It was a little challenging to assemble at first but I figured it out. The color is amazing and I’ve had no issues so far!

i have used these guards before. they last about 2-3 years of somewhat consistent use. pretty standard skating guards. i liked the colours for these so i had to buy. i guess i didnt read the descriptions because i was not expecting it to be cotton candy scented?? not sure why one would need them to be scented but sure why not ... show more

Update since using these. I've upgraded my rating to 4 stars. They seem to work fine, but I can't go all the way to a 5-star rating because there is clearly a limit to the size skate intended to be used by these, but the marketing doesn't reflect that. Additionally, there is a risk that the guard will come apart if I'm not super careful putting them on or taking them off the skates. It's as if no one taller/larger than a 12 year old skates. * 3 stars until I use these enough to warrant more or less. The packaging says "Completely Adjustable" and "Fits most types of Hockey & Figure Skate blades". I just received a pair for my size (US) 13.5 hockey skates and the instructions say, "Unacceptable - centre gap too large – more than 3/4". Well, I didn't need to cut them down at all, but assembled, there is a gap of almost 2" between the front and rear guard. They appear to fit well, despite the gap, and despite me thinking the spring was going to come loose and snap back at me. So why do the instructions say that a gap of more than 3/4" is unacceptable? I don't see any reason why they wouldn't work with a gap that large. Perhaps it's more a liability thing, like, if I'm walking around and I decide to walk on a surface that causes damage within the gap (like the edge of a sidewalk or something). I'd be happy with that explanation, as long as they work and don't damage my skates, or me! ... show more

I wear a Womens 6 Jackson boot, and these guards are the perfect size. They come with trimming instructions for smaller blades, but if you wear anything larger than maybe a size 7 you would need to look elsewhere. Assembled myself in the span of 5 minutes, very easy all you need is a screwdriver. Why I gave 4 stars… The pink is very cute but not what the picture shows. Also, they mentioned a “berry scent” but I was BLOWN away by how strong the smell was and not in a good way. My whole room smells like cheap strawberry chapstick, I’m hoping it’ll wear off in time. Bottom line: good guards, they’ll do the job even if they are bright pink and smell like a toddler. ... show more
