Grumbacher Linseed Oil has a number of uses in oil painting. It can be used as a paint binder ingredient when mixing colors from powdered pigments, in oil painting medium recipes and added directly to oil paints to make colors glossy and fluid. I used this to prime my wooden pallete to use for oil painting. Took a rag and poured a bit of linseed oil onto the blank wooden pallete, and then rubbed it around with a rag to spread it and soak up excess. Repeat again after a day or two, and maybe again after a few more days to have a total of at least 3 thin layers. Then you'll have a perfectly primed wooden pallete if you're making your own oil painting pallete! This linseed oil can also be used to thin oil paints :-) happy painting! ... show more

This item did not arrive in good condition, due to UPS sending it all over the United States back and forth like a crazy bat.
