Like most product sold on this website, you have to modify or repair it on delivery. This one is no exception. I got into the habit of opening up everything I receive nowadays. Out of the two lights, one had a short between the live and neutral. A small strand of wire was soldered across on the PCB. This was easy to snip out. My guess is on the first power up, the strand would have melted away, and probably become harmless. But it could as well have been a fire hazard. The product is sold as 24W, 1550 Lumen, >=80 CRI. The reality is 26W, 1400 Lumen, 80 CRI. In fact it is nicely spelled out on the PCB. Which also informs us that there is 30 LEDs, split into two strings of 15. This gives us about 0.86W per 9V LED chip. Which is close to their maximum rating of 1W. There is a slight 120hz flicker (visible on slow motion camera). On the PCB, the current to the LED chips is controlled by the three groups of resistors conveniently labelled RS* (Resistor Sense). The board is basically three copies of the now relatively common circuitry you find in LED light bulbs. This makes modification trivial. On this board, every group has about 8.9 Ohm of resistance. Split between one 3.9 Ohm resistor and two 10 Ohm in series (making it 5 Ohm). Snipping one of the two smaller 10 Ohm RS resistor in the three groups (example, RS2, RS6, RS8) will reduce the power consumption to 12W. It is almost as if the PCB was designed so you could do that in seconds when you know the trick. This brings the power consumption to 0.4W per LED chip. The light fixture will run cooler, be cheaper to run, the LEDs will last 10 time longer, and all of that for only 30% less light output. In my case, 1400 Lumen was too bright. It would hurt just looking at the light fixture. Lowering to around 900 lumen is just perfect. The aluminum PCB appears well built and thick. I replaced a pair of 'boob' lights in our bedroom and office with these. They were easy to install (as most lights are) and are easily dimmable via a smart switch. They have a strong, white light that is bright when needed and dim when not. I liked them so much in the bedroom and office, I bought smaller versions to install in the hallway. Great lights. In my open carport, these two lights replace two 1990s fixtures that the dirt daubers had completely walled in with their welded beads of mud packed with drugged spiders, blocking almost all the light, which was feeble to begin with. Now, I'm a little hesitant to turn them on at night for fear of disturbing the pair of house wrens that have shacked up all winter in the milk jug I hung up in the corner. Installs in a few minutes, but won’t lay flush to the ceiling no matter what we do. Ridiculously bright. No need to change bulbs because they are LED lights. Perfect to slam up in a rental or other low budget application.

One of the lights continues to glow even when off. Not a fan, but it is over the table, so a nice low light for nighttime. Other than this, they work well. They are of a bluish tint, not yellow. Husband had no issue with the instructions or install other than the one glowing orb at night.
