GRR-RIP BLOCK is the smart choice for safety. Harness the ultimate gripping power of the only pushblock with smart heel hooks that know where to grab your workpiece. Smart hooks grab the tail end of the board to give you complete control and confidence to finish the cut. Smart Hooks automatically drop down when you need them, and instantly retract mid-board. The grip is fine, but it's overpriced!! For $28, you don't include the plastic deflector shield with the fastener screws as in the video demo. You pre-molded the screw holes in the gripper for the deflector shield, but if you don't include the screws and the deflector shield for the money. This its not a good value. You need to revise your marketing strategy. That deflector shield and the fastener screws are not optional! They were a part of the product video that was given 5 stars. Take away the deflector, there is no added value. you deceived the customer. It's just a $28 rubber grip with aplastic handle. ... show more

It has a bit of learning curve, but once you get used to it, you'll find it very easy to use and works very well. The green grip keeps a firm grasp on the work piece, and the tabs help guide the piece on the table through the router.     • Don't Get the Hype

In short, these are better than the free pushblocks that come with jointers or table saws (we all know the plastic ones with foam bottoms that fall apart after the first week) but I don't see how there's some much hype around them. Here are some observations: -The knobs that drop down to hold the wood while I push it through the jointer constantly pop up resulting in me losing my grip, a simple way to lock them in place would make a world of difference. This is potentially dangerous as well. -The padding on the bottom seems to be holding up well. -The size of the puchblock is nice, easily moves 2x4s and x6s of various lengths Overall it's a good product but the "auto retracting heel technology" is a pain when it auto retracts halfway through a cut/join. I would much rather a locking heel. I'm torn between giving this 3 or 4 stars since this is such a big flaw. ... show more

I purchased this as a gift for my dad, who does some woodworking as one of his hobbies. I wanted to encourage safety and steer him away from his make-shift push blocks. Sure, they worked, but I wanted something with a firm grip on the wood and easy to hold in a very safe fashion at his table saw. I've owned two GRR-RIPPERs for a about five years and really love them. I decided to purchase the GRR-RIP BLOCK to replace the push pads that came with my jointer. I have used it a few times now and love it as much as my other MicroJig products. Unfortunately when I received mine from Amazon, two of the four "heel hooks" were missing. Wow, I cannot say enough about the GRR-Rip block. I have total control of my board for long or short rips! I was terrified to use my table-saw after a bad kickback incident. I wasn’t hurt but it shook me up pretty bad. This tool give me the confident to be safe, feel safe, and complete the job.
