  • Perfect monotub for beginners and experts alike
Size: 28 Quart
I finally got a chance to order a monotub and sense my previous experience had led me to find contamination a very hard obstacle in mycology I was excited but still unsure. When i unboxed it I was apparent that this was way better than anything id used before. The bin was sturdy and the placement of the vent holes was perfect for letting fresh air in and carbon dioxide out as well as keeping the inside humidity perfect for healthy shrooms. The micron filters were easy to pop on as well as the monotub itelf with a lid, base, filter patches, liners and two pieces that clipped the top and bottom toghter tightly keeping contamination out and humidity in so it seemed to perform better than expected. Isopropal alcohol sprayed on the inside and outside easy and wiped down with paper towel made quick work of sanitizing everything. I noticed then how the clips were fully removable and thus were easily cleaned where if it had been sone kind of hinge there would have been cracks were mold or anything could squeeze into but this tub was able to be cleaned completely. The tub was more than a fruiting chamber, inoculation went smothly on the 2 five grain bags and then put inside the monotub showed me the versatility of this monotub that was cheaper than most and still seemed superior to anything inflatable. Yet Id never had success so to be sure I contacted myco labs and they went over all my questions with expertise. I wasn't expecting to have this level of customer support! It was then my hopes started to rise and I was determined that I would succeed even if this particular batch of spores and grain didnt work out for some reason knowing the experts had my back made me double down on all my efforts. I had bought the smallest one but was still loving the size. It had more than enough room. Besides I figured at that point this would be perfect to buy 1 or 2 more and have more than just one chance at success i could have a few different kinds of strains in each one and increase my odds of success as well gaining more chances to find a genetically compatible strain with my location. Spores can take awhile to start growing but to my surprise less than a week in i went to let tge bags breathe a little and there it was! A small growth of mycelium and in less than a week! So i put them back in and today marked two weeks and excited i took the pictures posted with my review. If that doesn't say success than what does? Myco labs had brought me from failure to a hudge start with great promise. I'll be getting another tub and some grain jars also from myco labs to go with a culture and with the monotubs im now very confident. Everything has been so much easier and my passion has grown immensely with expert advices and high quality products. Thanks again myco labs! Making mycology that much easier is awesome and i couldn't be happier with my purchase! ... show more

  • Great product for a great price…
Size: 28 Quart
I’ve been using these monotubs for some time now and I’m very impressed. Easy to clean/sanitize, comes with the patches and hole pluggers necessary for a productive grow, and easily stack on top of each other. Would highly recommend!

  • Tight Seal & great chamber
Size: 66 Quart
I tried to make my own last time I did mushroom projects. I am simply just fascinated by mushrooms so wanted to grow them and when I made my own the first time got a lot of contamination. This one is super easy to set up, my yield tripled, and it just works great. What else can I saw other than I'm a big fan and I think you will be too. Also, the filters are stick on so just put pressure on the edges (outside) with your finger and do a couple circles around to make sure they are on there tight. No complaints at all so far. Solid build ... show more

  • Seems to be what I need
Size: 66 Quart
very new to mycology honestly I wish this thing was like 20 bucks instead of 40 but I was to lazy to make my own so I digress. Its nice and long tall enough and wide enough(honestly I thing its gong to grow to much for me). All the port holes fit with their plugs nicely doesn't seem like cheap plastic my fat cat walked on it so its 14lbs tested and certified by the correct technician and it got here earlier than I thought came with liner 6 filters and 6 plugs as listed in a neat ziplocked to keep it contam free as possible in transit that surprised me cant wait for my first spawn ... show more

  • Great tub for a good price. Best for beginning mycologists.
Size: 66 Quart
You could spend less for a DIY monotub if your willing to buy a whole saw and hopefully don't crack the tub and buy filter disk or poly fill. Oh you might need to make more then one tub to get back the investment. Still it won't be as good as this especially for a beginner. Some big advantages are that the inside is completely smooth, no nooks and weird shapes on the inside which makes being sterile much easier and help to create a completely even substrate. The biggest advantage is the clear humidity done. It allows monitoring without opening it up therefore reducing the change of contermination. It is not perfectly clear but enough so to get okay pictures and definitely good enough to see exactly what's happening without opening it. It comes with some plugs for the vent holes to limit fresh air flow for spawning to bulk. I didn't use those myself. Instead I put the included filter disk on and covered those with plastic bag pieces on it with masking tape. This enabled me to change to fruiting conditions without opening up the tub and not having to open it until harvest. It's working out really wel for me. ... show more

  • Good for the money

  • I prefer the 28qt
Size: 28 Quart
The smaller bins require one all in one grow bag making it simple and easy to work with. Tried the larger bin and wasn't a fan. Growth rate on the small bins is fast easy to clean clear lid allows for easy viewing brightness is good with the clear lid for once they are fruiting. And very sturdy container dropped it stepped on one as a stool I wouldn't recommend that though. But I love this company and the quality of the 28qt bins ... show more
