Fun to play right out of the box, no high frets, no loose hardware, fit and finish excellent, even the strings are crisp and bright. I bought the gold one and may get the purple one just because. I play a rock/blues with a mix of dirt and clean. This guitar has the tone range to play everything I know how. I may shim the neck a few thousandths in the future just to see how low I can get the action though its not needed. This is a fantastic deal on a great looking guitar, you can’t go wrong with this thing it even comes with a sharp looking gigbag the only downside was that the nut wasn’t right for this guitar so I ordered a new one only to find out it didn’t work cause it wasn’t tall enough. Had to get a brass one and man does it ever make this guitar play better and sound fantastic too. Made some modifications, new tailpiece and pickup rings it makes this guitar a lot better, also all guitars will need to be setup, no matter how good they may come from the factory. ... show more

    • Beefy neck & finish flaws

*PROS: Smooth tuners, SS frets, well done fretwork, decent bridge, comfortable neck heel. *CONS: Several finish flaws, high nut action, chunky neck. I really wanted to like this guitar, especially at the sale price I got it at(99usd), but the chunky neck was the biggest turn off for me... I prefer slim U or C, like ESP & Schecter uses. The pickups are more vintage voiced than I prefer BUT weren't microphonic... unlike the Volgoa I returned(Grote's sister brand). The "Yellow" is more of a Gold-top color than shown, which I liked but the finish/paint work is kind of bad. I guess a few bugs got stuck to the color coat and the painter removed the bugs with tweezers, which removed some color and then they applied clear coat over top of it. If it wasn't for the beefy neck, I probably would have kept it. ... show more

Guitar came well packaged and damaged free. Even the setup on this was perfect. Looks a lot like a Censtar brand I also purchased. Must be same factory.
